Brady (wearing a Highlanders cap, how lame): Hey are you the guy that writes The Eddie Kranepool Society?
Me: yes
Brady: Well, Gisele sent me to get you
Me: Gisele?
Brady: Bundchen! My girlfriend! The mother of your “love child” !
Me: WHOA! Hold on there Tommy boy! There is no proof that that’s my kid.
Brady: well, Gisele thinks it is and she is so upset that you have returned her calls!
Me: Well listen you doofus, you tell her to get over it OK? I have more pressing needs than to go comfort a super model. My favorite team is in a free fall. Willie Randolph is managing my team like a special ed student. My GM went from being a Branch Rickey to an Al Harrazin. My centerfielder is addicted to Midol and the Braves and Phillies are so far up our ass they’re checking for polyps. So Mr. QB fake Highlander fan, Gisele is all yours until the DNA testing comes back.
So now that your up to date on my whereabouts, let me talk Mets and be forewarned this stream of conscious will be all over the place. So as Murph always said “fasten your seat belts”:
I am still a Willie Randolph supporter but I will admit his in game managing leaves a lot to be desired. His handling of the bench and bullpen has deprived me of sleep some nights. Also his lineup selection as well. Please Willie Please LEAVE MILLEDGE IN THE LINEUP AND FORGET THAT GUILERMO MOTA EVEN EXSISTS. Sorry for screaming.
Is there a team in baseball that screws up the DL more than the Mets? Now we learn that Paul LoDuca is back on the DL. For a guy who is supposed to be Mr. Team player, his insistence that he catch Glavine’s 300th win looks to have cost him another DL trip. I will be SHOCKED if he is a Met next season.
I have watched a lot of baseball this season on TV with the Extra Innings package and no announcing team comes close to Cohen, Hernandez and Darling.
Do you get the feeling that Carlos Beltran’s tenure with the Mets won’t last the length of his contract?
Maybe Moises Alou should be peeing on his legs instead of his hands
Congratulations to Titan Tom Glavine on his 300th win. Now go back to Atlanta and take your annoying wife with you. Am I pissed off that he got his 300th win as a Met? Damn right I am. I had to watch the greatest player to ever wear a Mets uni, Tom Seaver, win his 300th in Highlander Stadium with the Chicago White Sox, so yeah I’m bitter.
Oh and Mama Glavine can you crack a smile please?
I just can’t put my finger on what’s wrong with the Mets but it’s like a car that needs a tune up. When the hitting is on the pitching stinks and vice versa.
Hopefully I will be back to daily postings as I get back in the blogging grove. Thanks to everyone who e-mailed me and called to make sure all was well and for their kind words.

Steve:
Welcome back,
Your dreams were your ticket out.
Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about.
Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they’re turned around.
Welcome Back!!!!!
Being a Met fan and critical one, I am taking a look at the whole picture and thinking outside of the box. Most Met fans on blogs, defend this team no matter how bad they play. Yes, there you should always find a positive out of negative, but being a Met for over 34 years I am done with that.
I would like for you to take a look at this team and tell me do they really deserve to be in 1st place. Once again being a Met fan my answer is NO!!! They batting is anemic and their pitching is mediocre. It’s scary to think how bad the teams around them are. So who can you blame for this?
Most workers are as good or motivated as their bosses make them be. I know if I do not push and have high expectations for my associates, my results would be less then I expect. So with this said, Willie Randolph is not a motivator, does he really have the hunger to win and a killer instinct. Now, you may see a different side of him in the clubhouse or when he is meeting the press. As far I do not see this in watching the games.
Not only is Willie the problem here I have to blame the organization for not having a better advance scouting team, scouts that preview amateurs to draft and of course Omar. Omar started out well here, but it’s what have you done for me lately. What has Omar done to create a deeper farm system with hitters and pitchers that excel when reaching the majors.Who do they have in the farm that could fear the competition when called up?? Yeah you can say Humber and Pelfrey, if they pitched for another team they would beat the Mets.
So what I am asking is for the newspapers to start writing articles questioning Willie’s performance and non*hunger to win. Want them to look at Omar and how bad his trades of been of late. You think if your lineup is not working then change things, who says Reyes has to lead off?? Stop being like other and worrying about pitch count. What about having more bunting and hit and run. Omar, what about bring in more youth and going with them and not players past their prime.

Yes, this thing is ON!
Welcome back, Steve! I think the reason the Mets have been sucking so badly most of the summer was due to the absence of the Society of the Krane…
Now, let’s play Milledge every day and shoot Guillermo Oh-NO!-ta…
welcome back….you were sorely missed
