A couple of quickies off yesterday’s game:
I would have been great to get a win yesterday and come home with a winning record on a road trip that started so bad but John Maine looks like he’s on empty. It may be time for Willie Randolph to go to a 6 man rotation and give Maine and Perez a start off. Maine has now pitched 168 innings this year, the most he’s pitched since he was in college at UNC-Charlotte, when he went 134 innings is senior year. You have Mike Pelfrey and Phil Humber ready to take up the slack so you may as well use them.
Last time Carlos Delgado got on track with his bat, he banged his knee into the photogs box at Shea and that set him back, now he has a hip flexor pull just as he was getting it together again off the lay off from the bad knee. It may not hurt the Mets too much as there is depth at first base with Shawn Green and Professional Baseball Player, Jeff Conine plus Marlon Anderson to take Delgado’s spot.
One good thing that game out of yesterday’s loss was Willie Collazo got into his first ML game and looked good.
NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP……………………..
Thank you Lord for making Chris Roberson a Phillie
ALL HAIL THE GREATEST # 2 IN ALL OF NEW YORK SPORTS
Last night on New York Baseball Talk Mike Silva and I discussed the shabby treatment Mr. Met was getting from the mascot Hall of Fame. Well, the New York Post picked up on it and ran an article today. It’s too late now to vote as the voting ended at 12:00PM today. Mr. Met should have gone in as an unanimous choice.

Steve,
I really think Maine can’t handle the heat & sun. I think he’ll get better as the season runs down. It was 100 degrees in Cincinnati the other day.
