If last nights game were a post season game NYC would be in shut down mode this morning. This would have been a game for the ages, a Mets Classic. You had John Maine and the speculation that he has hit the wall, pitching a brilliant game. You had Shawn Green (Happy New Year to Shawn and all who celebrate the day Happy 5768) off the scrap heap and making a major contribution.  You had Jose Reyes coming back to life with two base knocks and stolen base. You had the rejuvenated Carlos Beltran who started the 8th inning rally with a hit and a stolen base, oh and how happy is Beltran to fly under the David Wright radar. But of course a little intrigue has to be injected to this Mets game as you can’t have a Mets game with out some turmoil. In this case turmoil is spelled M-O-T-A.

The Irish people have a term for folks who are very stubborn they say they are “thick†well Willie Randolph is the “thickest of the thick†and in case you think last night blow up has changed anything well let the manager tell you about that:
Â
He shouldn’t get caught up in the crowd. He just needs to be concerned about, for the team and for us, he needs to get over the hump obviously in those situations,” Randolph said. “I’m going to keep going to him. He has some of the best stuff in our bullpen. Right now he seems to be going through a situation he can’t get a break.”
I’ll give Randolph and Mota this, if Lo Duca could have held on to the foul tip on Jeff Francoeur at bat in the 8th all this would be moot. By the way let me sidetrack a second. The analysis by Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez on the Francoeur at bat was OUTSTANDING! Darling’ excitement level was off the charts as he and Hernandez gave viewers are real inside on how Mota should pitch Francoeur. Both Darling and Hernandez said that after having Francoeur, a free swinger, chase off speed pitches and balls in the dirt, to send a 1-2 pitch up on the letters as Hernandez said with all the low pitches now was the time to change the eye level by going up in the zone. You don’t want to throw a strike, you want Francoeur to chase so what your doing is setting up your next pitch with the high strike. I love this stuff!!!!
Â
So with the come back win and the Phillies getting their ass’s handed to them by the Rockies what started out like a nice easy win then turned into a roller coaster back to big victory is just a primer of what is in store for Mets fans in a month.

Now, that’s BAD;
Was there in Sec21, in Upper Level;
Running into “New York” Fans there, as opposed to Mets Fans
Ah yes Eric Gange, one of young Theo’s worst blunders that could have been Omar’s
Nothing worse than a “New York” all they want to do is go to a parade any parade. They become Irish on St Patricks Day and homosexual on Gay Pride Day and so on.
I love listening to the give and take of Darling & Hernandez
