TEARS ON MY PILLOW PAIN IN MY HEART OVER YOU

It’s ridiculous. How the hell is this happening? Every game the same shit, the Mets score runs, the starting pitcher can’t get past the 5th inning, the bullpen implodes not just one game but the last eleven games. It’s numbing. Right now the best reliever the Mets have is Scott Schoeneweis who Willie Randolph went to recently as a last resort. Schoenweiss was ineffective early in the year but has lately been THE MAN in the pen. No one else has stepped up.

Phil Humber did as well as could be expected not because he’s a rookie making his first ML start but because the kid was left to rot in the bullpen all month and then is called upon to breathe life into a morbid team.

My WTF? Willie Moment of the Night (I need a sponsor for this segment) is if your going to use El Duque out of the pen why not bring him in the 5th inning? I know that bringing in Duque with men on base just back from injury is a gamble but I have to ask myself Joe Smith or El Duque? El Duque wins that argument each time. Listen it really doesn’t matter anymore as it now has gone beyond who Willie brings in the bullpen as this bullpen collapse is now historic. The kind that books are written about. I can just see myself in 30 years from now with my grandchildren saying “Grampa, tells us about the great Mets collapse of ‘07″

As fans we’re stunned, dazed and befuddled but what about the players? How much confidence do th e position players have in this pitching staff? How frayed are the nerves of this team? If someone in that clubhouse says the wrong thing could it spark a full scale riot? I’m trying to put myself there wondering how I could a confident that my teammates will step up and not shit all over my hard work. The offense is putting runs that are unprecedented for a Mets team and still can’t win games.

I’m watching Randolph’s press conference as I write this (I have to get up at 5:30 AM to go to work but there is no way I’ll be able to sleep so hopefully by posting here it will exhaust me enough so I can get to sleep) and it’s the same thing after each of the last awful games. “We’re still ahead” “We have to battle” “We have to be mentally tough” One reporter asked him how do you stay positive when you blow four, five and six runs leads on a daily basis, and Willie just gave a nervous laugh and the stock mentally tough quote. I think Willie realizes that his dazzle them with bullshit way has hit a wall. This has not been a mentally or physically tough team for three-quarters of the season. They have not displayed a killer instinct to put away teams when they has the chance. I don’t care how hard or gutsy the Nationals seem to be playing, they have inferior talent and it’s a fucking embarrassment to lose to them any place but especially at home.

I’m sorry that I’m rambling and babbling but I’m at a loss for words about what we’re seeing with the Mets, it seems I write the same thing everyday for the past week and a half. I’m hitting the wall and I have to get some sleep even though I have a feeling I’ll just be staring a the ceiling all night.

Just incredible. I knew in my heart that the past weekend was not the turning point. This is like June again, only this time the Mets are being embarrassed by the Nationals rather than the Dodgers & Tigers. Hard to imagine things getting turned around before Sunday, but I guess we have to hope.

The only small mercy I have had recently is that I’ve been too busy to actually pay as much attention as I would generally like. I knew this was coming and was really unhappy about the fact that I was going to have to sort of tune out the last week of the season, but now that’s turned into a blessing. I thought I was only going to miss the tune-up games, but instead I’m missing the historic collapse.

Willie is a MORON: He has a pea for a Brain. He has no clue. He needed to pay his dues in the minors to understand how to manage. Coaching 3rd or sitting next to Torre does not make you a manager. All I can say and hope as a Met fan is that they lose and not make the playoffs and Wilpon hires a manager with common sense, no Skankee background and has intelligence to major.

Some of you people live in a fantasy world. Come to your senses and see that this team SUCKS!!!!!! LET ME SAY IT AGAIN THE METS SUCKS
WHAT DOES METS STAND FOR = MY ENTIRE TEAM SUCKS
IT STARTS WITH LEADERSHIP AND WILLIE IS AWFUL
OMAR HAS DONE A POOR JOB LATELY TO IMPROVE THIS TEAM I DONOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT OMAR AND WHAT HE HAS DONE IN THE PAST. YES HE BOUGHT IN SOME GOOD BALL PLAYERS BUT IN LIFE IS WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY. WHAT ARE GOING TO DO FOR ME TODAY, WHO CARES ABOUT YESTERDAY. THEIR ADVANCE SCOUTING IS PATHETIC THEIR MINOR COACHING AND MANAGERS ARE HORRIBLE THIS WHOLE ORGANIZATION NEEDS A CHANGE. YOU KNOW WHAT IT STARTS WITH THE OWNER, WILPON IS A WHIMP. HE NEEDS TO LET THEM ALL GO, STOP ALLOWING THE YANKS TO DOMINATE THIS TOWN, STOP ALLOWING SNY TO TALK ABOUT THE YANKS, STOP ALLOWING WFAN MIKE AND THE MAD DOG TO MAKE FUN OF THE METS. WHEN WILL FRED SHOW HIS EVIL AND BUSINESS SIDE. ITS ABOUT PRIDE AND THEY HAVE NONE!!!!!

If a Pitcher is brought in the 5th or 6th inning
and he’s on fire and in control; DO NOT TAKE HIM OUT AFTER ONE INNING….KEEP HIM IN!!!!!
    THIS IS DO OR DIE!!!!!
Everyone in that bullpen should have the fire and energy that El’Duque had last night, everyone in that bullpen should watch him!
He is there to win and lets everyone see it!
If he was left in the game the METS would have won last night.
It seems to me that when these guys come out of the bullpen there’s no enthusiasm, they have DEFEATED written all over there foreheads, no energy , no life …WHERE IS THE FIRE , some one go in there and talk to these guys !!!!!

I thought I was the only one not sleeping over this. It is a disgrace and an embarrassment. They need to stomp all over St. Louis tonight to re-gain some semblance of confidence. If they have the lead going into the weekend, we’ll all feel better. But how can we realistically expect that? Last night had blowout written all over it. To think, one of 3 from Washinton would have felt like a blessing. Just like last Friday, Pedro needs to save a season that should have never gotten to this point.
