Crybabies of Queens, lift up your eyes. The cause is not lost and it is always darkest before the dawn.
Tug McGraw must be spinning in his grave watching the reaction of you Mets fans. It is too pathetic for Yankee fans like myself to even gloat (much). Buck up and root for your team in its darkest hour and stop the fingerpointing armchair quaterbacking litany of dread.
More words of wisdom from another one of those “dedicated” Yankee fans who was wringing their hands and giving the Yankees up for dead this past June. Welcome back on the bandwagon now that they’re in the play-offs.
Tie Cobb: I was enduring the hubris of Mets fans in the office this spring who will have the decency to admit they flew too close to the sun back then in defiance of karma and baseball history. As a courtesy I will warn all Mets fans to avoid this week’s SI which has a feature on the upcoming playoffs and profiles of some expected players (including two Mets). Dewey Beats Truman time.
