Thank you John Maine for stepping up and pitching a gem. Just a 45 ft bleeder away from a no-hitter. You were fantastic today when a fantastic pitching effort was needed. You gave us a Sunday, no matter what the Phillies do today.
Thank you Luis Castillo for being the guy to finally get mad enough to go after a pitcher it was good to see some passion out of the dugout and hopefully the rest of the team realizes the resource you guys have but haven’t tapped into all season. The Mets fans.
No matter what happens tomorrow all you folks you leave comments about Fire Wilie Fire Omar you can stop ’cause it ain’t happening. Both guys will be back as will Professor Rick. But one thing both Willie and Omar have to do is tighten up the ship. When Willie first took over as manager he was a hard ass. No beards, no long hair, no loud music in the locker room. A bit to rigid I say. But now after losing the reins a bit the boys have gotten lazy. Next spring Willie has to run a modified boot camp and get the message out to run out every hit ball like you have a porterhouse in you back pocket and a pack of pit bulls are chasing you. There is no excuse for not hustling that means you Jose Reyes and Lastings Milledge. If the Mets need a coach in charge of ass kicking next spring I want the job.
I’m off to Coney Island for the premier of Mathematically Alive remember the show tonight is sold out but they have added a show for tomorrow at 7PM at the Coney Island Museum.

Thank you for highlighting Reyes’ and Millegdge’s follies. It could very well have gotten lost in the score, the no-no hype and the brawl. These guys needed a kick in the pants and this game might just have done it. If only it happened with more than 1 game to go…

Is the prohibition on discussing Randolph’s firing over yet?
Is there any doubt now that his insistence on letting pitchers ‘work though’ trouble has cost the Mets the season?
Glavine didn’t have it and the hook had to come early. Dumbo kept him in and now we are in a giant hole.
Still hoping we come back; but there is NO DOUBT in my mind that Randolph is not manager material.

Fred and Jeff Wilpon need to pull the plug on Omar and his staff and Willie and his coaches. What is Willie going to say, we’ll get them next year. There cannot be a next year for them. I elect Bobby V as the GM and Gary Carter as the field manager. Keep Hojo and make him 1st coach. I said it back in Aug under the screen name WillieMustGoNow that this team will not make it the the playoffs. How can the owners look in the fans faces and allow the Skankees to dominate the city.

I’ll check in with you again later, but just wanted to say ‘Thanks’ again for another year of your efforts here.
Last year ended with what we thought was about the most frustrating ending there could be, but this was far, far worse. Last year I couldn’t believe I had to wait 5 months for this season to start. Now I’m thinking that 6 months isn’t enough time for me to get the urge to listen to another game again.
