I consider myself as a progressive guy but some shit that would be considered “old school” should stay a part of baseball. Last night current Orioles player Kevin Milar threw out the first pitch at Fewnay before game 7 as a guest of the Sawx. He was laughing and joking and carring on with some of his former teamates like he was a retired hero back to the battleground. How could the Orioles allow this? It’s just so fucking wrong.
I heard about this on the Red Sox pre game show on NESN from the Rem Dawg who said the Red Sox had wanted Petey to throw out the first pitch in Game 6 and the Mets said HELL NO!!!!!!! Thank god there is still some shred of sanity on Roosevelt Ave.
Fraternizing with the oponent is a big no-no with me. I hate this huging the enemy and the openess of the clubhouses .
As much as I hate the Islanders, I always respected Billy Smith who never shook hands after Stanley Cup playoff games as he stated “those guys are trying to take bread of my family’s table” and he’s right.

That Millar thing was a disgrace. The last thing the Mets needed was the negative press of Petey doing the same thing. How does MLB allow this? Does it not call into question Millar’s motivation when playing the Red Sox? How does Selig think the Highlanders and Blue Jays feel?
What is going on?
I want Mariano. Mr. Kranepool has me going on this one.
Reportedly, Millar’s a Free Agent, hence the Invite
Unfortunately, though, this is the way of things now. We have a bunch of mercenaries playing the game with no team loyalty. Like Carlos Delgado and his tea parties at first base. I’m surprised the Sox, though, don’t have Bucky F’ing Dent throw out a pitch. LOL
You’re right about there being too much fraternization in sports, but Billy Smith was a major asshole….
