PLAY THE GAMES ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the best games on the Monday Night Football schedule is when there is an October or November game in Denver as chances are their will be a huge snowstorm during the game. But one thing I don’t look forward to is a baseball game in the snow especially a World Series game in a blizzard. Football is cold and snow and North Face jackets and long underwear but baseball is sunny and warm and Mr.Mets t-shirts and flip flops. It’s fair to say in both Boston and Denver no one will be wearing the summer time apparel but more parkas and gloves which flat out sucks. However it should still be a fine Fall Classic.

This is a series of questions. Does Francona go with Beckett with short rest to get three starts out of him? Does Jon Lester get the start in Game 4? It looks like Lester will get that start and that’s the reason Wakefield is left off the roster as you can’t pitch a knuckle ball in the thin air of Denver. The biggest question for Tito is what happens when the games are played in Denver? Papi goes to first base but what to do with the Greek God of Walks? How can you sit Youklis? Does Francona do something radical like move Lowell to short in place of the woeful Lugo and put Youk at 3rd? I wouldn’t as you now have weaken yourself at three positions. You could look to put Youkilis in RF but he has never played RF in the big leagues and that’s alot of ground to cover in Coors. Most likely Youkils will sit out the games at Coors and that’s an advantage to the Rockies.

The Red Sox have the edge in starting pitching but the Rockies have the better pen. The eight day layoff helps the Rockies pitching staff to rest their weary arms but what of the bats, is that too long a lay off?

As you can see I have no clear cut way I going with this series which looks to be a good one and as hot as the Rockies are I’m still going with the Red Sox as I feel Josh Beckett and Curt Schilling are just too tough in big games plus Game 7 if need be is on Lansdown St to Sawx in 7

Look for the Rockies to win easily. Hard for Mets fans to admit, but they are for real. We should have paid more attention to their effortless sweeps of both NY teams. Now they have the whole package– pitching, hitting, defense and kismet. Boston is in for a slap in the face.

The Rockies scored six off Beckett earlier this year. Game One adrenaline has a way of negating the Webbs, Zambranos and Sabathias. (Even Tom Terrific never won a postseason opener.) Knock off the ace and the rest of the Sox rotation is vulnerable.

In Games 3-5 Boston will have real problems playing both Papi and defense; Manny should provide some entertainment in left without a wall hide in. At a neutral site this series might go seven but mile-high the Sox get knee-capped in Denver and Papelbon’s dance never encores.

Its the ‘69 Mets with a batting average.

Well, I told all my friends and family that Colorado would win in 5. Last night doesn’t make me look like a genius. However, I still think Colorado will win this thing, but they better play better tonight. They gotta get rid of those cobwebs.

I was wondering what they were going to do with Wakefield. And, yes, Youkilis is the big question in Denver, although maybe they’d sit Ortiz against Francis?
