No need to trade for Lowry as Pelfrey or Humber are better than him and especially not for LMillz no way.<div class="comment-remix-meta"><a href="#" class="replyto" onclick="replyto('14884','kranepool'); return false;">Reply</a> - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('14884','kranepool','No need to trade for Lowry as Pelfrey or Humber are better than him and especially not for LMillz no way.'); return false;">Quote</a></div>

Tell us how you really feel about the whole damn situation. Don't touch a damn thing about this ball club. Yes resign one or two and bring in a new arm or two but we sure in the hell do not need to recreate the wheel. Hold your heaqd you Met's fan or step away from the plate. Has anyone heard the rumor of Noah Lowry for Milledge. Now those kind of moves will create the winning Mets no the blockbuster moves like the A-Rod wet-dream.<div class="comment-remix-meta"><a href="#" class="replyto" onclick="replyto('14709','SHOES'); return false;">Reply</a> - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('14709','SHOES','Tell us how you really feel about the whole damn situation.
I guess I'm in the middle on this one. A-Rod is clearly one fantastic ballplayer. He's also a jerk.

I'll deal with the jerk bit first. He can't help being who he is, but I suspect he'll be slightly less of a jerk on a team which is less dominated by a player & team leader he cannot stand. I think he'll still be a jerk, but slightly less of one.

I think the Mets could overcome the fact A-Rod is a jerk, however, the move would be a disaster if it cost the Mets so much money that they had nothing left to fill other gaps.

Let's face it, the Mets are more than one big bat away from winning. Also, there's no way I'd move Reyes to make room for A-Rod at short because Reyes is on the brink of being a fantastic defensive player. He has concentration lapses, which have to be eliminated, but there are things he can do out on the field that other shortstops cannot do.

I don't mind moving Wright, but where? Left field makes more sense to me than second base. First isn't a bad idea, but I can't imagine moving Delgado. I love the idea of Wright working with Hernandez to become one of the top first basemen - at least he wouldn't have to throw so often.

Couldn't agree more about the fans whining, however. Let the Yankees dominate the back pages at this time so long as the Mets are dominating the papers this time next year for all the right reasons.<div class="comment-remix-meta"><a href="#" class="replyto" onclick="replyto('14133','Eagle'); return false;">Reply</a> - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('14133','Eagle','I guess I\'m in the middle on this one.
Im with you Benny.. the guy just produces mind boggling numbers year in and year out.. .. i dont get why people are so adamantly against the guy.. so what if he likes she-males and is an introvert .. he is NOT a total ass like Bonds with three lockers and a recliner... Or KK-Kent

This supposed top team in baseball didnt even make the PLAYOFFS this year.. we need to constantly make changes to keep up with the Fils, Cubs, Dodgers and Bravos -- not to mention the Sox and the rest of the AL.
This is the perfect power move to launch the Mets into a five year domination of the NL.. Besides.. who on the mets is a "Winning player" today? Pedro maybe? Delgado.. yeah right.. Beltran-when did he win anything? Castillo won a few but hes ready for a knee replacement.

The only arguements I hear on the other side is he's a panty waist, she-male f-ing 24 and 1 player and is not clutch.. well .. FUKC Steve Phillips and his BS statement--no one listens to that FAG anyways... I say let the guy play in queens and lets see what happens when he gets a larger sample of playoff performance. In the mean time i'll take my chances with 310/45/150 and a 1100 OPS.. Love Stings' tude but we need chips to upgrade the pitching..this weak FA pitching Class aint gonna add nothing of real value/

We'll make a spot for him .. Double Clutch DW anit no gold glove out there at 3B.. 2B aint the answer but the outfield needs an upgrade.
I read somewhere - -"whats is Alou more likely to repeat? A 30 game hit streak or 60 days on the DL"? Scary Shyte to have to depend on that.

THe $$ to the Skillsets mearly justifies his paycheck..We've got the $$ for pitching.. that wont be an issue.

When he's hitting number 850 in Citifield I guarantee we'll all be wearing his jersey and cheering like mad.

I wanna parade around town in my Mets hat like I did in 1986 and tell Senile Georgie to stick it up his pompous ass.

I cant stand another September swoon and watching crappy football all OCtober.
I cant wait until he jams it down Hank and Hal's throat and puts on the Orange and Blue. Jesus.. think it through.. the guy is not only the best player in baseball.. he may be the best player OF THIS GENERATION>>> and just comes at the price of Freddy's dough.

OK, Benny's defense aside (you know I love ya, man, but the ARod man crush has got to stop! LOL), I am right with you on hating A-Rod. I like how you say A-Rod will bring in cash to the Skill Sets but I say one other thing will bring in cash - Championships and contending teams. A-Rod makes them neither. Esp as you say that will disrupt the nucleus of the team. Is he a dick? Probably but this dickhead can produce like that on a normal year. Those numbers up there aren't his career year numbers, this is a typical season, and a down year for him is the type of production you expect from David Wright, that's a down year. This dickhead happens to be the best player in the game. Not the best in his position, not one of the best in the league, not the best player in the game right now, but one of the best players EVER!

The Yankees didn't lose because of Alex Rodriguez, they lost because thier pitching sucks donkey balls and it has sucked for the past 4 years.

And the money is not going to prevent them from signing and trading for top flight pitchers, trust me. Major League Baseball is very close to approaching revenues on the same level as the NFL, the sport is making SERIOUS money.

And just remember the whole "choking" thing, well, Johan Santana hasn't won a ring, and he has a 1-5 record in the playoffs. But... that's who everyone wants. The whole clutch and choking this is a bullshit and made up perception to explain something called small sample size. I mean Captain Clutch grounded into like... 4 double plays in Game 5 of the ALDS alone.

Being a "winning" player doesn't exist, unless your Kenny Lofton, that man knows how to win, and he doesn't even have a World Series ring.

The fact is, A-Rod makes the team better. If put you Wright at 2nd base you replace Castillo's production with A-Rod's. C'mon now, that's just... such a big improvement I can't even type right now.

I'd prefer going after pitching but if he's there, you go for it because he does something you can't deny, MAKE THE TEAM BETTER!
