My favorite Mets player of all time and the man I named this site after Eddie Kranepool is suing LI Jewish Hospital for using his name and medical history for fund raising purposes. Well if Steady Eddie’s lawyers are reading this believe me there are no funds being raised here.
The only way the Mets can sign Jorge Posada is by blowing the Highlanders offer of 3yr/$40mil out of the water. That means a minimum of 4yr/$52mil for the 37 year old catcher. The only way Omar makes that offer to Posada is to break Pee Wee Cashman’s balls. Posada is a Highlander for life and I can’t see him leaving his soul mate Jetes to join the Mets. Posada is just like every other pro athlete he just wants to be paid.
With that it looks like Paul LoDuca could be headed back to Flushing but I still think Omar has a trade in his head. Maybe a Ramon Hernandez/Erik Bedard to the Mets deal?
The more I read about Johan Santana and the Twins deciding to keep him or trade him the more I feel the Mets would have to included John Maine in  a deal with Pelfrey/Humber (It’s good these two are pals because they have become Siamese twins) and either Milledge, Gomez or Fernando Martinez. That’s a real steep price. I’d rather that Omar work quietly with Billy Beane and try to work deal for Dan Haren. Haren would be a mighty catch but I just wonder what it would take to snag him? How about Heilman/Pelfrey/Gomez for Haren and a prospect?
Baseball Prospectus has its 2007 Baseball Internet Awards up and our boy D-Wright finished second to Matt Holiday in the NL MVP voting. Jose Reyes by the way finished 15^th just behind Barry Bonds and Ryan Braun. Yes let’s fuck around with these two cornerstones of our franchise for A-Wad.
St. Joseph of Torre is off to Hollywood where he will play the part of manager of the Dodgers and side kick of Blowhard LaSorda. These two were made for each other. St Joe is also bringing with him his own little rat pack with Donnie Baseball and Maz joining him on the left coast. Two Brooklyn boys with the “LA” Dodgers Lord please forgive them as they know not what they’ve done. Seriously, I will miss Maz on SNY as he got better and better on the Mets pre and post shows, especially when he broke down the post game with Ronnie and Mex. I’m telling right now, if they replace Maz with Dave Gallagher, I’ll make myself a peanut butter and banana sandwich and put a bullet through my TV  Elvis style.
So Anna Benson and her sidekick got booted out of Bawlmere. About time they cleaned up that town. Where will Anna and her trained assistant take they’re tired act now? My guess is Tampa Bay as Tampa is the strip club capital of the U.S. and Anna as we know is a noted “pole”vaulter.
