He also grounded into 18 double plays. Behind the plate, he threw out just 13.1% of base stealers, although a pair of surgical procedures performed Oct. 4 might help increase his success rate. Estrada underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee and also had a bone spur removed from his throwing elbow. Estrada also dealt with a balky hamstring last season. The Mets are the fifth team in seven years for Estrada, who tends to wear out his welcome despite being a good switch-hitting catcher. He openly clashed in the dugout tunnel with Brewers manager Ned Yost during the Mets' visit to Milwaukee in August. And he often bothered pitching coach Mike Maddux with his handling of the pitching staff. This appears to be one of those times. The only great players are third basemen.It is one of the positions the Mets are set on. But second base, outfield, catcher, pitchers,etc.... 4 years for likes of Castillo is a shame. He is really a utility man kind of player and an upgrade would have been nice.
