The weather here in NYC has been absolutely gorgeous the last couple of days. Imagine temperatures in the 60’s! In January! I LOVE GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!!! So with pitchers and catchers just over a month away, my Mets fan juices should be flowing. I should be salivating over the site of Mets uni’s with numbers as high as football linemen. I should be “x”ing out dates in October so I don’t plan on doing anything put attend the last post season games at Shea but to tell you the truth you have a better shot of making me believe Britney Spears is sane than you do making me believe the Mets are headed for a good season. Not even a winning or championship season but a good season. In fact I think the odds right now are that Omar will be selling instead of buying come the July trade deadline.

I could sit here and go on how we have no idea what Petey will bring to the table and if Maine and Perez can win 15 games again and which Jose Reyes shows up this season or if Carlos Delgado is done and what happens if D-Wright slumps and what happens to the outfield when Alou goes on hiatus and what if Willie Randolph runs the bullpen into the ground by using four relievers a game thru June I could go on on how I think a third place finish in the NL East is more probable than finishing first but it’s so warm out I think I’ll just go out and have a catch with my son and hope that cheers me up.

Don’t forget SPORTSTALKNY tonight at 9PM I swear I’ll be in a much better mood by then.
