OMAR’S HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A quick post as I’m working today and I have a shit load of work to do but I was reading David Lennon’ story in NEWSDAY on the Mets and (who else) Johan Santana and it looks like with Omar Minaya back in town from his trip to Israel, he will be ready to breakdown Twins GM Bill Smith to trade Santana to the Mets.

Let me go out on a limb here and say I predict there will be a press conference at Shea next week to annouce the trade and signing of Johan Santana. Hopefull this happens Thursday so we can talk about it on SPORTSTALKNY.

& Last Night, in The East Village, I got my Picture taken with the ‘07 World Series Trophy. for The Red Sox:

If The Sawx were owned by Freddie, Uncle Sol & Company, Last Night would NOT have been possible.

Steve… hope you’re right! GO, OMAR GO!

From your lips to God’s ears!

Yes, Paul, not a bad impersonation there of Joe Benigno, the phrase he repeats so often but always with the audible and inherent resignation and fatalism of a lifetime Mets-Jets-Knicks fan (like many of us)…, but hey, hope springs eternal.

Unlike our counterparts in the Bronx, we usually can be found in the land of hope (and hopefully “character”), and not results (and sometimes cheating)…

I say go for it, bring in Santana even if the cost is high. Spend future stud prospects for current wins. The 18 year old kid Martinez may be the second coming of Roberto Clemente, but not for the next 2-3 years, and in the meantime we have to play baseball.

And of course, he could be the second coming of alex Escobar, alex ochoa, Don Bosch, etc.

I think David is right on… outfield prospects seem like they are more of a dime a dozen than infield or pitching prospects. Send FMart to Minn. and get this deal done!
