Again the winter of my discontent continues as the Mets off season crawls along.
So it’s because of that I turn my attention to football and this weekends championship contests. So if you’re here for Mets news sorry to report there isn’t any. If you want to know my opinion on the NFC and AFC Championship Games read on.
I want to pick the New York Football Giants to win Sunday and I will be rooting like a mutha’ for them to win but with their secondary that wasn’t so good when healthy, decimated by injury, I just can’t see them containing Brett Farve and the Packers spread offense. If I’m Mike McCarthy, I come out with a four WR set and Donald Lee in the backfield to block and attack, attack , attack the Giants DB’s which could consist of R.W McQuarters-a kick returner-and Geoffrey Pope-a practice squad player-playing a key role at CB.
On offense, Kevin Gilbride has to go to a strict ball control offense. Run Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw and send Plaxico Burres and Armani Toomer on post patterns to free up the underneath and let Eli get the ball to Steve Smith and TE Kevin Boss. If the Giants do win this game Sunday, Smith and Boss will be the ones the come up big.

In Foxboro the San Diego Super Charges limp into Foxboro and after three hours they will limp on out. Philip Rivers, LaDamian Tomlinson and Antonio Gates are far from game ready and they are the main cogs of the Charges O.
The Patriots on offense are a site to behold. They beat you long with Randy Moss or Dante Stalhwoth or underneath with Wes Welker and Benjamin Watson. They’re like an Arena Football team.
