I watched it but I still don’t believe it. My son just looked at me at the end of the game and said “How come your not screaming”? I told him “I can’t I’m stunned”
No one saw this coming yes I know most Giant fans were getting more confident as the weeks of post season went on but roll the clock back to November and we were all ready to run Eli Manning and Ton Coughlin out of town. Now? Neither gut will ever have to pay for a meal in this town again. Throw Plaxico and Strahan in that group as well and don’t forget David Tyree and his HUGE catch and the front four Tuck (who could have been named MVP as well) Omenuyeria, Robbins beat the shit out of Tom Brady and Corey Webster who had the game of his life.
I will say give Eli and yes he has earned first name only status now in NYC he was kicked around this town like no one since Patrick Ewing was disrespected here but unlike Ewing he has a ring. Coach Coughlin too hated by fans, players and press alike now you better get used to him he will be here awhile. Oh and Strahan? He will make a bigger career than Tiki Barber (how many holes do you think he punched in the walls of his home?) on TV off this?
First Santana, now the Giants, what a weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think there will be a line at the local MODELS tomorrow?

It’s not the “Miracle on Ice”…but this is probably in the Top five of all time upsets. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!
Hadn’t realized that it was that big an upset. I guess I expected it to be close. I really enjoyed last night’s game. I didn’t want to see New England win due to their cheating, so I rooted for the Giants for the first time since they went to New Haven.
Watching Bellichek grimace and wince and then scurry off the field when there was still time on the clock, and then feeling the bubbling joy of the Giants as they celebrated their huge accomplishment…these were perfect images. Reminiscent of 1969, when my teams, both denizons of Shea “Last Call!” Stadium, pulled of similar “miracle” wins. These delirious moments are rare, but so beautiful. As for the cruel losses and setbacks that usually predominate, we have have learned through much practice how to cope with them and still maintain basic sanithy and dignity..
A friend in Boston told me this morning that the whole town is stunned, that nobody can believe what happened. Of course not, cause something has been way out of wack in Beantown, when their three big teams, Pats, Celts, and Sawks, suddenly never lose. They NEEDED this loss to bring them at least a bit back to reality (though going 18-1 for the year is hardly normal). Who would have thought it a few years back, but Boston fans are having way too much success, and rapidly becoming like Yankee fans, who have always considered playing for and winning the chanpionship each year to be some sort of Bronx Bomber birthright.
So be stunned, New England, and truly thankful for what you got this year!!
