I am sorry, I cannot get warm and cozy with A-Fraud about how he opted for less money. His contracts have been totally insane. They have damaged baseball. I long for baseball to be played for the Game, with a decent paycheck, not for the Big Money. I favor regulation of salaries to keep them rational, low ticket prices, and for teams to be owned by their city governments (something like GB Packers), not private owners, so if the team makes a profit, it is for the muncipal budget.
What baseball player would turn down, say, a million dollars a year to play baseball, if that were the ceiing? The rest of us work for a small fraction of that, an play ball for fun. In the meantime, most fans can no longer afford to see their teams out at the ballpark. I used to go, in the 1960s, with the Borden's milk carton coupons (ten got you General Admission and a great day at Shea). Bring back that magic, instead of $30 million salaries!
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('58152','David in Manhattan','I am sorry, I cannot get warm and cozy with A-Fraud about how he opted for less money.
You never cease to amaze me. Too funny.

Someone needs to take the Poodle behind the shed and shut it up for good.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('58137','Andrew V.','You never cease to amaze me.
