HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO GO TO THE LAST REGULAR SEASON HOME GAME AT SHEA

I am honored that Greg and Jason over at Faith and Fear in Flushing working in conjunction with the Mets organization have put me on staff as a screener for fans looking to attend the last regular season game at Shea on September 28. Even if you have a ticket you ARE NOT GAURAUNTEED ADMISSION to the game until the Committee votes yea or nay. Some tips about approaching your interview with me. First do not show up in a black Mets jersey. Do not wear your Mets cap backwards, that is a sure sign of disrespect and bend that brim. Do not come into the interview room with a cell phone in you ear or one of those WE’ER NUMBER 1 Foam Fingers on your hand as both will be shove so far up your ass you’ll be able to dial that phone with that foam finger by passing gas. Do tell me how Ed Kranepool’s Number 7 should be retired and how Tom Seaver’ bust should be carved into Mt Rushmore. Bring in a 6 pack of Rheingold and if you bring in the Rheingold in a Chug-A-Mug bottle I’ll put you in a luxury box.  You will have to able to tell me what scared Juan Samuel so much that he refused to leave his Corona apartment to play a game at Shea. Here are two pictures Pic 1 and Pic 2 which picture is of Roy Staiger and which one is Dave Schneck? If you have to ask who these two players are, then  NO LAST GAME FOR YOU!

So do your homework Mets fans and bring you’re A Game to the interview by the way for those of you who have never seen me or know what I look like I’ll be the guy at a desk in a Lindsay Nelson Sports Coat. Good  Luck!

Too bad that picture of Lindsay is black and white. He was definitely NOT a black and white game.

After I read this post I googled Rheingold. I hadn’t realized that someone had revived it. I’ve never tasted Rheingold as the brewery shut down when I was 12. (My father wasn’t much of a beer drinker and when he bought beer it was Schlitz, the only beer smokers could taste he used to say. So the little sips of beer I had as a kid were Schlitz.)

Rheingold was the first beer Ed Kranepool ever drank. Did you know that? I only found that today.

Great post today. Has me laughing. I don’t think I’m ’strong enough’ to get through your interview process. I have this picture of you in a room with a single bare light bulb hanging down and you asking questions like, “Who was Dan Norman and how did the Mets get him”? {I actually know that one, but you get my drift.)

Duh, that should read not a black and white guy.

That’s funny, I read Greg’s posting over at FAFIF too - I’m not sure though I could even pass your quiz Mr Kranepool Society. Want to go with my dad to the last Shea game? LOL J/K

My new mission this season I think will be to find a Lindsey Nelson sport coat to wear to the last regular season game (we all know the Boys in Blue and Orange will be playing through October right?)

    Coop,

Listen young lady respect youe elders especially when it comes to our beloved Mets Folks like me and your dad have suffered long with this team I bet he can pick out Dave Schneck and Roy Staiger in a lineup.

How does one get an interview with the committe??? Do you have to wear a jersey, Mets or otherwise that honors the man with the hamstrings of peanut brittle (which is why the jersey number is 28)? Or know who hit the ball that ended George Theodore’s career? Does having met Eddie “the Krane” in two different states count for anything? Just curious.
