How in the world did Mets management think they were going to play a baseball game last night? As I left my office at 6:00PM it was not just raining up raining horizontally with high winds that left about 25 umbrellas from Worth St to Chambers St in trash cans as causalities of the weather. I guess when you sell as many tickets as the Mets have this season you can afford to kick your customers in the ass but that doesn’t make it right. So what we have today is the new wave doubleheader known as the day/night affair.

So with the make up game both the ace Johan Santana and the underwhelming Mike Pelfrey will both pitch today with Santana pitching the day end this way the bullpen will be saved for rescue duty in the night cap in case Big Pelf falters. I just hope Pelf steps up with a huge effort tonight.

If Cousin Barry is reading this please tell Cousin Willie that I like the fact he dropped Carlos Delgado to the 7 spot but it’s time to get a little more creative with sparking this team. It’s too bad Angel Pagan is hurting because it would be a good time to give Carlos Beltran some pine time. Please Cousin Barry let Cousin Willie know I’m here to help him not hurt him as we all know the bench is a coaches best motivating tool.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before, Petey is progressing well, he threw 60 pitches and will pitch a simulated game and then a minor rehab game and then be reevaluated. See ya after the All Star break Petey.

Welcome back Ramon Castro. If I’m Willie I’d start Castro in game 1 to catch Santana and let Brian Schneider catch Mike Pelfrey in the second game.
