I know all you youngsters out there love your Red Bull and other energy swill that’s out there but us geezers here at the Eddie Kranepool Society swear by Manhattan Special. This is pure rocket fuel boys and girls and with the Mets out on the West Coast this week I’ll be picking up a six pack of this classic New York beverage tonight on the way home. Starbucks wishes on their best day they could ever turn out an espresso drink like this. Pure Italian espresso, carbonated water and massive ammount of sugar a 10 oz bottle will get you through any game this week. It’s kinda of like a Viagra for the nervous system.
It’s either a Manhattan Special or a trip to Tatum O’Neals house to keep me up this week.

I leave for CA (LA, unfortunately) on a few days of business tomorrow morning. Good thing is I can listen to the games on the MLB radio package at “normal” hours out there. I’m hoping for 5-2 but will grudgingly take 4-3 on this trip, since the Mets just want to toy with us a little. Then, they go back to CA in two weeks for the LA Angels of Anaheim, southern CA, Portugal, whatever. Since we have inter-league play (which has run its course if you ask me), what can’t east coast teams do one swing and play all three CA teams like the old days? This sucks with the multiple trips.
hopefully you didn’t drink any yet. it might be time to take an 8 hour nap.
