HERE’S A KLEENEX WILLIE NOW GET LOST

So now the Willie Randolph employment termination with the New York Mets has reached the “Shut the fuck up” stage with Randolph writing a woe is me a piece in today’s NY Daily News. The more Randolph goes on about getting fired the more I think Tony Bernazard was on to something. Yes, Omar Minaya should have fired Willie on Sunday or even sooner than that and I don’t care what some folks say, there is a right way and a wrong way to do fire someone and flying a guy 3,000 miles then firing him is the wrong way and proves that maybe Omar Minaya is lacking the “SKILL SETS” to be a GM. But with all that, let today be the last day of hearing about Willie Randolph and his firing. Willie did a bad job last season and this season and from all reports lost that clubhouse. He deserved to get fired but it should have been done better. Case closed.

Adam Rubin has a great piece in today’s Daily News on Scarface Benazard looking like a contender to take Omar’s job.

For all the shit I gave Jeffey Wilpon and Scarface Bernazard and the Carlos’s and as fucking miserable as this team has made me from last June to today, the last series in Anaheim has me thinking that this team has a shot to make a run at the division. I want to hate this team and the owners and the ushers and the ticket takers and the concessionaires but I can’t,  I just can’t stop rooting for them. Just call me Brokeback Mets fan (I look at Mr. Met and tell him “ I can’t quit you” ) This team is so much a part of me I’ve come to grips with realization that we will be joined forever as much as we both love/hate each other. Last Saturday I went to Shea with my family and got a miniature Shea Stadium as a giveaway. There were four of us so we got for Shea’s. My wife says well since we have four let’s give a couple away. I nearly had a stroke. I started yelling NO NO NO NEVER NEVER I WANT THEM  ALL I WANT THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( my basement is full of Mets swag, batting helmets, seat cushions, floppy hats, baseball cards, tote bags, gym bags, bobble heads, drinking cups, and t-shirts) Then when the game was called due to rain I was so pissed off I didn’t talk to anyone the whole ride home.

Friends of mine who have tired to quit smoking tell me how difficult it is and how studies show that giving up cigarettes is the toughest addiction to break and I tell the I can see you never tried giving up being a Mets fan.

Now let’s go kick some Rockie ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As bad as it is to watch the Mets lose a game it’s not as bad as the withdrawal symptoms of an off day.

I’m with you. The pity party I believe is finally winding down. Willie Randolph is yesterday’s news. That’s show biz.

As far as this being the beginning of a run, I’ll believe it when I see it. If anything, this team is great at giving us all false hope. This lineup still features a lot of garbage on a day-in day-out basis, and I don’t see that changing all that much anytime soon.

I know, you would think the Mets were the ONLY team to have a manager fired this week. The Mariners lost a mgr AND a GM. Whatever. You’re not the only with mixed emotions or whatever. Later Wills, don’t let the door hit ya. Now about that coup Steve…

They were out of those Shea replicas when we got there. My daughter is still pissed that I wanted to wait in the car for the (first) rain to stop. Steve, you’re right on the money. As much as I hate them, I love them. My daughter always says, “Dad, I’ll never forgive you for making me a Mets fan, they make me miserable”.

Ok, off to Ebay to see if I can buy a Shea replica-the home of the team I love to hate.

rich that’s so funny. I can live with my dad making me a mets and rangers fan, but the jets was just cruel and unusual punishment for a kid. Jets Super Bowls under my watch = 0 (I wasn’t around for ‘69). Giants Superbowls = 3.

Coop, I’d love to go at J-Man just us two old “gangstas” but the only blade I have is one of those old switch blade combs I got on the Coney Island Boardwalk. But I’n pretty sure I can take down Uncle Saul

It must be some kind of personality type, this Mets fan thing. Living and dieing for a team that has historically been synonymous with losing, that set the all-time single season loss record at 120, that actually caused Stan Musial to delay his retirement a year because he wanted to return, already into his 40s in 1963, to get one more season to feast on Mets pitching.

I have an English friend who loves the Manchester City Football Club (soccer), the lovable crosstown loser underdogs in a town dominated by the mega franchise, Manchester United. When I started talking about the Mets, crosstown from the 27-times WS winner Highlanders, we totally bonded…and now we follow each other’s teams, and the suffering goes on. Mets, Jets, Knicks, Rangers, Manchester City…God love em all!

Your opening ‘graph made me laugh out loud – and ever word of it is true.

I think Jerry’s blade is a comb, too. He reads Ghandi, for goodness sake. Sorry, Coop, but I’m a Giants fan. Out of respect to my day, I go Big Blue. He was also a Highlander fan, so I had to let him win one!

I too love the Met’s. I live in Las Vegas. I had a baseball package on the TeeVee and when ever the West Coast teams played the New York Met’s wether in California or in New York, the games were blacked out. IN LAS VEGAS !! MLB and ESPN has something to do with it. So I changed to XM RADIO and get to hear all of the games. I have one in the car one portable for when I go to the Las Vegas 51 games, so I can die when the Met’s lose or screw up. I get the local feed and some of the Homer’s are very dull when they call a game. It’s like listening to paint dry. The Las Vegas team is the Triple A team of the Dodgers. They’d be a good team if the Dodgers would leave them alone. I am a Met’s fan as are we all. We live and die for them. Krane I love you Blog.
