Guy, sounds like an asshole, Keith Hernandez was an asshole, so was Daryl Strawberry, Wally Backman and Lenny Dykstra. '86 wouldn't have happened if the team was filled with only Mookie's, Rob Darling's and Kid's, you need a couple of assholes to mix it up. Let's get something straight, I don't need my clubhouse to like each other, that doesn't necessarily translate into wins. I want every member of my clubhouse to want to win more than the guy next to them so when somebody pulls an ole on a grounder or doesn't dive for a getable ball or a lineup gives a pitcher a free ride by swinging at first pitches they're going to hear about it from the guy next to them, like him or not.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('71896','TW','Guy, sounds like an asshole, Keith Hernandez was an asshole, so was Daryl Strawberry, Wally Backman and Lenny Dykstra. \'86 wouldn\'t have happened if the team was filled with only Mookie\'s, Rob Darling\'s and Kid\'s, you need a couple of assholes to mix it up.
I have no problem with a woman in a man's locker room, or with a man in a woman's locker room, provided certain basic rules are observed in each case.

Whether or not the reporter in question should have thicker skin is really not the issue here; the issue is the poor behavior of a kid who has yet to do anything at all in the major leagues, and in his first opportunity to show his good character and appreciation for his good fortune, he sure didn't. I'd like to see the Mets send a strong message on this one. And deal with it now, before the kid gets the idea that this behavior is acceptable in any way, shape or form.

And regardless of whether or not you or I or anyone thinks the presence of the opposite sex in a locker room is appropriate, fact is, it is allowed, and everyone has to deal with it until and unless it changes.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('71893','debmc','I have no problem with a woman in a man\'s locker room, or with a man in a woman\'s locker room, provided certain basic rules are observed in each case. \r\n\r\nWhether or not the reporter in question should have thicker skin is really not the issue here; the issue is the poor behavior of a kid who has yet to do anything at all in the major leagues, and in his first opportunity to show his good character and appreciation for his good fortune, he sure didn\'t.
When I think of "Section 8", I think of Klinger from M*A*S*H :)

I agree both parties were wrong in part, Davis for acting like a cocky ass-wipe and Mira for needing to grow thicker skin.

I know this sounds sexist but I never felt women had a place as reporters in professional sports and snooping around locker rooms and such.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('71873','Frank from Jersey','When I think of \"Section 8\", I think of Klinger from M*A*S*H :)\r\n\r\nI agree both parties were wrong in part, Davis for acting like a cocky ass-wipe and Mira for needing to grow thicker skin.\r\n\r\nI know this sounds sexist but I never felt women had a place as reporters in professional sports and snooping around locker rooms and such.'); return false;">Quote
