Say it ain’t so! You’re watching other teams over the Mets?? Just kidding, hell, I do it, too. That’s why I have the package. It is so nice to see teams like the Rays (and even the Royals) who over achieve with YOUNG talent. No one on those broadcasts ever talks about “staying focused for nine innings”. They talk about winning a pennant and excitemnt. Even my daughter is threatening to become a Red Sox fan, so at least she can still hate the Highlanders. This, however, will not be allowed.

Folks, don’t you just wish we could have some excitement? Darling said a few weeks ago that it seems like Mets fans are always praying. He’s right. I pray for the pain to stop. If they play inspired, we get inspired. If they play like it hurts, we hurt. We’ve been hurting a lot. So, once again I say, the man who put this chemistry-less, passionless team together must go. How come we as fans see the problem and he does not? Are we really to believe that all of a sudden his eyes are open to the fact that old players cannot use “substances”, and he’ll lose his passion for them? I just don’t think so. Philosophically, this guy is just not there. Watch him get another senior citizen at the deadline. Can anyone say “Kirvsky?” He’s in the organization, and the Reds, though struggling, have a good nucleus (Phillips, who Omar traded for Colon, and several good, young pitchers).
