Eagle we go back a long way and those days of "Joe McUseless" seem like a loooonnngg time ago. I have to go back to the old site and see if the archives are still there with those old posts. I'd like to find my post when Scott Kazmir was traded as that on ealways was my favorite.

As for staying in the woods I reall have a jones for some concrete and and open fire hydrant right now.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('74645','kranepool','Eagle we go back a long way and those days of \"Joe McUseless\" seem like a loooonnngg time ago.
Steve,

I think a few weeks in the woods will do you (okay, the Mets) the world of good.

As you know I listen to every Met game on mlb.com from afar (east side of the Atlantic), which is great. The main downside is no one to talk to about the games. For that, I've been tuning in here for years.

Sometimes I miss the carefree way you used to write about those awful Art Howe teams (when you didn't expect or even hope to win). Are those old archives still available somewhere? I used to have tears in my eyes from laughing as I read about Joe McEwing & the rest (once you explained the nicknames to me).

Anyway, just thought this was as good a time as any to say thanks again.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('74417','Eagle','Steve,\r\n\r\nI think a few weeks in the woods will do you (okay, the Mets) the world of good. \r\n\r\nAs you know I listen to every Met game on mlb.com from afar (east side of the Atlantic), which is great.
Love your Blog! As an ex NY'er living in NC now it's been hard not being able to follow the Met's live. I've found a site that will allow streaming of MLb.TV so I can watch each night. It's a beautiful thing. I get to work early in the AM so I went to bed last night thinking the Mets have a 9 run lead this should be a cakewalk. Checked this morning and I was like WTF?? Almost blew the game. I agree bullpen help is much needed.

Kranepool, I have been reading your blog for over a year and a half now. I have enjoyed it immensely. I am from Kansas and now live in St. Louis, but I was 8 when I chose the Mets to win in 1986. That was the last time I got to watch a baseball game with my dad, so the Mets have been my team ever since. I'll never be as die hard as you, but I wanted to let you know that I appreciated the fact that you gave a shout out to those "out of town Mets fans" in your latest blog. I'll always feel like a transplant, but reading your blog helps make me feel like a part of the family. Thanks, man.
I always love your stories about your little league team, as I, myself, am a high school baseball coach. Kids these days are hurting for the fundamentals!
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('74203','Kenny','Kranepool, I have been reading your blog for over a year and a half now.
Hey Kranepool. I know what it's like to try and get the Mets on the radio. I live in the Syracuse, NY area and my work schedule gets in the way of my TV viewing, so I have to catch the Mets when I can on the AM dial. For some idiotic reason, NO AM station in this area carries the Mets. I have to try and get WFAN to come in, which actually works pretty good after 8:00 PM. Before 8, forget it, I get static. I wish a station up her would carry them.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('74076','Jon','Hey Kranepool.
Steve,

Be thankful you did not watch. I almost was in cardiac arrest. If they blew a 10-1 lead, they would have been done for the year. It was so symmetrical, seeing Werth face Wags like on Sunday. I think every Met fan was pacing, I certainly was. The funniest thing though, is as soon as Endy caught the last out, Cohen blurts out, "And they win the damn thing 10-9", just like the late, great Murph.

How Heilman gives up an HR to Gee-off Jenkins is unfathomable. The guy swings in the same place every time. Just pitch the mofo up and away, he is Dave Kingman from the left side. Anyway, when that little gnat Victorino lead off with a hit in the ninth, you knew it was going to be trouble. Then a Wags-like walk to Bruntlett, and get the oxygen for the Howard at bat. He k's big Ryan, then gets pain-in-the -ass Burrell to fly to right. By this point, I'm pacing like a lion in a cage at dinner time. Thank God Werth got under that ball.

I guarantee a let down tonight, but I'm ok with it. They know they can beat the Cheesesteaks, and are 7-3 vs. them. It may be a fun summer after all!
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('74062','Rich','Steve,\r\n\r\nBe thankful you did not watch.
