I really need to get back to civilization but if the Mets keep winning while I’m away I may have to stay, and after my work release trip to town I’d have a few places to stay. If your a male 40+ with all your own teeth and not too much of a gut hanging over your pants and your looking for female companionship Narrowsburg NY is the place for you. As my buddy Sal and I walked through the local Wal -Mart we got smiles and winks from the local cougars. I tell you what man can resist a middle aged woman in tight short-shorts, a butterfly tattoo, over flowing mid drift, bouffant hair doo and a Pall Mall in the corner of her mouth?Â
It seems the whole no smoking in public places has not reached this part of the world as we ducked into a Chinese buffet for lunch, the hostess asked us “smoking or non-smoking” and we were dumbfounded so I stuttered “non smoking” and there were three tables in the that section and the two of us were the only diners in it.
I wonder if the Giants can hang around a while longer as they seem to have become to Mets the Mets what the Washington Generals have become to the Globe Trotters. Santana went just 77 pitches with the rain delay and from reading the game story wanted to stay in but Old School Dean Warthen felt it was wise to take him out and maybe spilt the game Sunday with Big Pelf.
My only fear with the resurgent Delgado is that Omar will sign him to an extension.
Really enough of waiting for Medicaid Moises just tell Randy Winn to hang around after today’s game.
I hope Ryan Church will be okay and this episode will have baseball do more work with their medical staffs on concussions.
I’m all for Vote for D-Wright for the All Star Game but why does Jose Reyes not get any love and support?
Our camp was woken up at 4 AM today when two Coyotes were howling right at our site. When I get back to the city, I’m going to kiss the concrete I feel like Ava Gabor on Green Acres ” I get allergic smelling hay, I just adore a penthouse view, Darling I love you but give me Park Avenue”       Â

Can’t we bring FMart up for a few games just to see if he can show us something? I’ve seen so many players brought up over the years that were in A or AA become such a boost to their team. Why not give FMart a shot and inject some more youth and excitement at Shea? Worst thing is he hits .187 in 35 AB’s and we send him back down. Or is he still hurting?
Just a thought.
F-Mart is back but only very recently. I think the organization thinks that with his age and recent stint on the DL, he’s just not ready. Well, is anyone surprised by Moises being done with the torn hammy? I think the only person who is would be Omar. With Boomer and Carton this morning he said ” We knew we would not get a full season from Mo, but we thought when he did play he’d be good for us.” OK, WTF? SIgn guys you know will not play for $8 million. Go figure. It would be nice to have that money now to invest elsewhere.
I just had to put on Russo this afternoon after the sweep. He was calling Met fans phonies, that we booed the team and now we love them. This from a guy who puts on his white tennis sweaters and hangs out in country clubs. To use Steve’s term, he can kiss our blue and orange asses.
5666 Route 97. I haven’t been there in 15+ years. The staff at TMR definitely know the place, it’s a canoe trip/motel/restaurant/oasis. Down the road from there where Ten Mile River meets up with the Delaware (it’s on the red dot 50 miler trail) is a great place to camp.
I always found when I went up to TMR the Mets always did well. Maybe you should stay up there.
Steve,
Found the archives through google. Fun times. Here’s the post with the Kazimir trade (start at the bottom and work up).

It wasn’t McUseless that had me confused. At the time I first found your site you were calling him the Wilpon Ward. I’d forgotten that until I saw it in the archives.
Reyes gets no love because Mets fans are insane. they seem to care more about his throwing his glove on the field after an error than they do about him batting .300, being second in the league in hits, tied for 3rd in stolen bases. By the end of the season he will have 900+ hits for his career at the age of 25 and I hear from many Mets fans they are tired of his “antics” and are in favor of trading him. Just what the Mets need is to trade a player has a good chance to retire with 3000+ hits, (approximately 11 years away if he stays healthy) 700 stolen bases and make the HOF.
Oh boy. Glad I stopped in to see what’s happening. Guess what…I’m going with my kids up to Narrowsburg in two weeks! Unreal! We are going canoeing through Skinners Falls. The worst part of these trips is finding a Daily News, or NY Post and realizing the scores they are reporting are ALREADY a day behind. Thank God for the web. And web access!
PS Can’t wait to get to WalMart, LOL…
Anyone hear anything about Omar trading for Holliday?
1.5 Games out now……….Who would of thunk that back in May 08 ? Oh yeah , how are the Highlanders doing again ? ……..:)

Feel bad about Alou situation on many levels. He is a damn fine guy and this must tear him apart. Feel worse because, when he’s healthy, the man is one of the finest hitters in the game. May be the best hitter I’ve seen in a Mets uniform. Truly a “what might have been” situation. Amazing the Mets have gone this far with no muscle in right or left field…and second base, and catcher…
