In defense of Reyes, this same exact thing happened to me in my last company softball game couple weeks ago. I play shortstop and same deal, (except only man on first and second) with 1 out. Ground ball up the middle i get it and think i can tag the base and throw the runner out at first but realize i'm farther than i thought and by the time i realized this, all runners were safe and I felt like an ass.
