Jane Jarvis is a CLASSIC. I remember The Mexican Hat Dance, or HOW The National Anthem BOOMED from The Thomas Organ. There was no "Mets Anthem Search". Mets Fans KNEW HOW to sing the National Anthem. This was NOT Highlander Stadium I and II, where those "Fans" had to be told WHAT to do and how to do it:

Don't feel too bad, Steve. The Yuppie II Generation or 3rd Gen Mets Fans never heard of Seaver and Koosman, nor that Upper Level was $1.30, or that the Seats were Light Green, or even the fact that the J-E-T-S, played there;

And a couple of Red Sox Bloggers, here in the Boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn, are Members of Shea's Old Guard, hence we go back to "Grant's Tomb", not appreciating M. Donald Grant;

It was on November 1st, 1975, I got to watch from the Yellow Seats of Shea Stadium, at the 15 Yard Line, for $10.50, The Last Season of The NY Football Giants playing in N Y C, on a Saturday, with a score of 35 to 24 over San Diego's Chargers, with Craig Morton as QB. This was Shea Stadium at its' most ripped up;

I would see The NY Cosmos play One Last Time in NYC, with Pele' scoring a Goal, down near the Pitchers mound, over Washington, before about 23K Fans, in a 3-0 Triumph, in 1976;

On Labor Day, 1976, for ONLY $1.30, I'd see Tom Seaver strike out his 200th Batter for the 9th Straight Season, when he struck out Pirates Catcher, Manny Sanguillen. All of Shea Stadium, erupted in a roar in the 7th Inning;

It's funny, Steve that at Fenway Park, I found out from a Sweet Irish-Type Lady from Boston, that because of the Fenway Sellouts, she and her daughter watched 3 Games at Shea in '06, but during '06, Shea's Upper Level was being used as a sort of Refuge' Center by Red Sox Nation's Boston and Providence Chapters. It wasn't because of the Historical Significance of Game 6 Of The 1986 World Series being played there, as much as it's affordable to go there, as I learned from a Father and 2 Sons, who were in full Red Sox Gear, who made the trip to Shea, Amtrak-ing it back to South Station or Back Bay;

BTW, they do love the Mets Fans, as "The Nation" is a happy replacement for Yankmees "Fans". This may NOT be the case in $iti Field;

PS- I DESPISE that little s---, JEFFY.<div class="comment-remix-meta"><a href="#" class="replyto" onclick="replyto('99686','Michael Leggett'); return false;">Reply</a> - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('99686','Michael Leggett','Jane Jarvis is a CLASSIC.
