The Mets have moved up the opening of $iti Field to Monday so they can have Tuesday the 14th as an open day in case of a postponement. Now the opposing team for the series, the San Diego Padres, will fly from San Fransisco on the 12th and because they are fly coast to coast their next game can not start BEFORE 7PM. The average low temp in April in NYC is 45 degrees. I guess if it is too cold or snowing/raining they can close the roof. What? No! Really?

I’m not going to sympathize with a team that has to fly across the country and play the next day since we had to do it three times this year. I will say its odd to open the season against a west coast team, and that west coast team isn’t the Dodgers, considering we’re building a ballpark for them.
April weather is what it is in NY. But its like that in 60% of the league that time of year.
