Pathetic. Is there a Mets fan on God’s earth who would not have bet the mortgage that Schneider was going to hit into that DP? Did we not see it coming? Very fucking predictable. Parnell is in now, at least this is worth watching.
All I can say if they do not make the playoffs

You know what? The Mets may or may not make the playoffs. They’ve definitely thrown a lifeline to a Brewers team that was just about to pack it in. We’ll see what happens from today, but I sort of suspect the Mets will still squeak in.
And, I’ll watch the first round if they do, but how happy am I supposed to be with a team that really isn’t near the class of the league.
Here’s a thought: the banking crisis might really hurt the Mets next year. I suspect that when the full shake-out is felt, NYC will be hurting. Big Time. This will take a lot of money out the Mets’ coffers. And this is where the big contract for Santana might really hurt. The trade was fairly painless, but his contract might be too big a millstone on the Mets’ backs as they seek to rebuild the pitching staff.
My guess is that right now there’ll be no big name pitchers coming to Flushing next year.
The Mets make you want the season to end.
I blame Omar for this pig pen and Luis Castillo for 4 years could very well be the worst signing in team history. I swear last night in the 9th he K’d on purpose. How do u look at 3 straight pitches.
Just 10 days ago they looked like they were going to the WS and were going to sweep the Angels and now teams like the Nats and Braves are gonna knock us out again. I agree with Gregg, they make me wish the season was just over. The only good thing will not be having to know the Skankees and/or Braves are in it. Yes, it sucks the Phils did it again with what I still feel is an inferior team. It’s funny how a few months changes things. We started out with a predicted one of the best pens in the league and the phils one of the worst in recent history and now they have like the #2 pen in the NL and we’re like last in the league. It’s like that article said, our bullpen ERA is worse than the ’62 Mets bullpen ERA!
Look at the bright side: another collapse may be the catalyst to get the Wilpons to sell.
This problem is way deeper than wilie, omar, luis, wags, concussions, rotator cuffs, etc.
This team is owned by DUMB MONEY.
They gave control of their $1 billion asset to a guy who puncuates his sentences with ‘you know what ahm sayin’ and who, in turn, handed the managerial job to someone who was 0 for 10 in job interviews for good reason – he wasn’t smart enough or experienced enough for the job.
Al Harazin. Steve Phillips. Mo Vaughan. Scott Kazmir. Louis Castillo. Jose Lima. Bonilla. Coleman. Saberhagen. New stadium right next to the old one – chop shops and LaGuardia issues for another 50 years. This is a BAD OWNERSHIP group and we will be coming here to piss and moan about this franchise for as long as the wilpons own this team.
So – it may seem perverse – but blowing this thing AGAIN may be (I’m praying) the final straw for F. and J. Skill Sets – sell to Mark Cuban or some other smart money.
Did I mention Dallas Green? Art Howe? Harrelson? Torborg, anyone?
Maybe Steve has finally had enough? No post today?
LOL Rich I’m alive and doing fine. I had to go to training class today so I had no time to post.
I’ll have something tomorrow LOL
