EXCUSE MR. LOWE, WHERE DO YOU KEEP YOUR CY YOUNG AWARDS?

Of all the mornings to have a leak in a pipe, this morning would not be one of them as it’s 17 degrees out and I had to shut the water in my house and my heating system runs on hot water so no water, no heat and I’m waiting for my plumber to come by so between a leaky pipe and the renovation of my living room I feel like the ring master at Ringling Bros/Barnum Bailey Circus.

In the aftermath of the Lowe signing, I just hope the pressure of the impatient Mets fan base (yes, I know hello black pot it’s me black kettel) does not cause an over payment to Oliver Perez. At this point I am more intregied with a Ben Sheets/Randy Wolf daily double that giving OP anything more than 3yrs/33mil no 4th year an no more that $11-$12 mil a year. 3/$36mil is my ceiling on OP.

I’m putting together a bunch of topics for tomorrow night’s Pro Baseball Central show as I will be flying solo as Joe McDonald has a previous engagement and speaking of Joe check out the new design at the mothership NYSPORTSDAILY that Joe has put together is bright and easier to navigate to all categories that make NY SPORTSDAILY your number 1 NY sports destination on the web.

As I say I will be in full Spalding Gray monologue mode tomorrow night so why not join me at 9PM EST on Blogtalkradio and call in at (646) 595-4462 where we can discuss the Lowe deal, OP, the offense and all things Mets on Pro Baseball Central.

I’m surprised no one will give Sheets an offer, coming off a 200-inning season. Why not two years, $25 million with an option year?

I would not give Perez, more per year than they were offering Lowe…if they want to give him four years, even though I hate giving pitchers more than three years, fine.

Jack, as for your Sheets comment, I agree, it is a gamble, because you know just like Moises Alou, there will be DL time, but I would take a two year gamble on Sheets.
