Hi: I agree with Harper (not usually) and Keith (didn't hear his comments but believe you) that you've got to give Tatis a chance there in the 8th. Sure, the Mets' batting in the crunch is down but J-Man (like the name) is right - these guys are all to good not to hit. The one hitch for me is that Shelfield is taking ABs from Church and Tatis. Maybe he'll do some good, but by creating a logjam and being a poor defensive outfielder points to the Sheff-man being a problem. BUT, 12 games is early, and my other worries are Maine and Pelfry - they've got to perform (we know that Ollie is what he is and you live with the good AND the bad...).
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('145385','Mike from Brooklyn','Hi: I agree with Harper (not usually) and Keith (didn\'t hear his comments but believe you) that you\'ve got to give Tatis a chance there in the 8th.
I do not care "how well" Figeueroa pitched yesterday...it was a bad move, now they get to lose two players. I like Omar, but he was a lot more creative and made better personell moves when he ran the Expos. They try too much of this lightning in a bottle crap. They have been using the bull pen so much, anyway, and had a day off today, and were saying how they could use Pelphrey if they had to, fine...start Parnell for three innings, brining in Stokes for three and go from there. Love this team, but when will they ever get their heads out of their butts when running it? Oh, by the way, it was nice to actually watch a Mets game yesterday and not a Dodger game. You know, a game where the Mets looked like the Mets, and not the Dodgers.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('145359','Paul','I do not care \"how well\" Figeueroa pitched yesterday...it was a bad move, now they get to lose two players.
Omar the Great strikes again! And I will say, the same guy who gave a 48-year-old a two year contract. All he can do is spend Fred's money, anything that needs baseball intellect seems over Omar's head.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('145330','Rich','Omar the Great strikes again!
