Check the standings the Mets for all their faults are a mere 2 games out of 1st place and as we all know (except it seems you Dan) the Mets are in desperate need of a big bat. Sheff can't play everyday so there is no lefty bat to put in the outfield that comes close to matching Sheffs bat. I imagine that if Minaya did trade FMartinez, and if in five years he's a star, you're going to be complaining about how Omar panicked and traded away the future. But, of course, you know he won't be a star because of how he played for two weeks in the majors at age 20.
