Just remember, when "Teflon" Omar was brought here, the first thing he said in his press conference was that the team needed to younger and more athletic. That philosophy lasted about a day and a half. The only player that they brought in here that fit that was Beltran and they were lucky to do that. Even he misses 30 games a year. In five years no one has taught Reyes or the pitchers how to bunt. Even though every time they have hired a pitcher to do anaysis has said you have to pitch inside to be effective, they continue to pitch scared and nibble all day long on the outside corner. The hitters, despite having success when they go with pitches continually try to jerk everything out of the park (Right, Mr. Wright) and hit more groundballs to the pull side fo the infield than can be stomached.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('151762','Paul','Just remember, when \"Teflon\" Omar was brought here, the first thing he said in his press conference was that the team needed to younger and more athletic.

“With his contract extension kicking in after this season Minaya isn’t going of to be fired but there really needs to be a shake up in the front office maybe bring in a Paul DePodsda type of exec to work with Omar to bring a different perspective in judging talent and maybe better way of constructing a 40 man roster. Something needs to change as the way it’s laid out now ain’t working.”

It’s FUTILE.

Somar Sotominaya, The Affirmative Action GM, is, was never, and never will be up to the job.

If you want to help the Mets you need to start calling for Somar’s head (this is what I told you last year, am telling you now, will tell you in 2010, and will tell you in 2011).

Gonna type a generic Somar Must Go post and keep in in MS Word so I can save some time here.

All you Holocaust deniers, I mean, Scientologists, I mean, Somar Sotominaya supporters – WAKE THE FUCK UP.

SOMAR IS THE PROBLEM, NOT THE SOLUTION!

Yup. Except that not getting rid of Minaya sends a terrible message. He has had 5 years, the team has no championships, is saddled with bad contracts, and the system, by the grace of God, is rated 17th. I think it is realistically worse. How can you bring this guy back?????? Yes, he found Santos and let's give him credit for Livan. This justifies a return? His ledger is heavily skewed to the bad. Like I wrote on this blog last year, firing Willie but giving the job to his bench coach is laughable. You want to make a change, MAKE A CHANGE. Simply cutting a weed does not kill it. Grab it by the roots and pull it out. Like I said yesterday, an organization with its head up its ass.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('151683','Rich','Yup.
