Nothing of Mets importance to write about today. Jason Bay, Matt Holiday and Bengi Molina are  still showing the Mets that they really, really don’t  want to play for them but if you over pay they’ll tell you the love you.

Seems Ken Davidoff agrees with me about Johnny Damon and it seems that Davidoff and I are the only ones’ who think it’s a good idea, even Matthew Cerone, who I hold in high esteem said he’d rather have Angel Pagan over Damon YIKES!!!!

From reading some of the comments here and on Metsblog I’m kind of shocked at the level of disrespect towards Damon. Yes he has a rag arm and his power that he displayed as a Highlander most likely won’t play the same at $iti Field but he walks into your clubhouse a two time World Champion a high profile player on two of the highest profile teams and matching him with Frenchy would finally turnaround the Mets Clubhouse.

This would not be a long term deal, 2 yrs at most. The bottom line here Mets fans is Jason Bay doesn’t love you or your team, in fact he can’t stand your losing ass’ even for 4yrs/$60 mil

Now if you excuse me I have to baste myself in Ben-Gay after shoveling my driveway and sidewalk

I am for anything that makes these guys squeal…and if they don’t want to be here they will be disasters and we all know it. Shame on T.O & JW for getting beat to the punch on many things by Seattle. Things will not turn around until the Wilpons do what the Maras did…find a George Young and get the hell out of the way. Just write the checks.

    Is it Boras time yet?

Damon is a winner. He is better than any corner outfielder we’ve had since Bernard Gilkey put up a (forgotten) monster year. What a sad parade the Mets have put in LF and RF since then.

Yeah, we’d be MUCH better off with the rev. al sheffield in left.

Steve, I think what you’re reading is our saying “why do we always have to have re-treads who are past their prime? Why can’t we get a 27-year-old stud, who has his career ahead of him?” Yes, we have Johan, but that is exactly one. Why do we get Castillo, Alou, Sheffield, and maybe Molina or Damon? Enough with these fucking guys! Get us a Carl Crawford, an Upton (TB will trade one of them). Give us someone we can rally around. Stop treating the organization like we are ringing a bell outside Shoprite at holiday time.

That’s me using my junior psychology degree.

Rich ,you’re right about getting younger and in a perfect world Johnny Damon wouldn’t even be a thought in my mind for the Mets but I’d rather give Damon 2 yrs than cave to Jason Bay and give him 5. In fact while everyone is calling Bob Klappish a dick for writing that the Mets should deal Johan Santana as the team is constructed today, it’s a complelling argument to deal him and start over.
