BILL GLEASON 1923-2010

Chicago sports writer Bill Gleason passed away at the age of 87 today.  Most New York sports fans are not familiar with  Gleason’ work.  But if you watched SportsChannel back in the 80’s then I bet your a fan of The Sports Writers on TV.  I loved that show. Check out this clip of the show courtesy of Can’t Stop The Bleeding. Also check out the comments from the Sun-Times story on Gleason’ death. Bill Gleason was an outstanding story teller, a war hero and a man of the people.
