While the Skill sets obsess over their falling financial empire, I’m obsessing over Jose Reyes. Maybe I’m wrong but I wish he were one of the players already working out in St. Lonesome. Sure D-Wright is there and a number of other players and Reyes doesn’t have to report until next week (technically he doesn’t have to report until March 1 as per the CBA) but the thought of him and Wright working out together and doing some strength and conditioning work would lift my winter/my team is run by a bunch of brokesters blues.
This is the biggest year of Jose’s career and I would think he’d be breaking down the gates to get to camp and get ready to prove to Sandy Alderson that he’s of sound mind and baseball body for the 2011 season.
Or maybe it’s just that I would love to see a positive story that includes the words New York Mets

I dont buy into the showing up early stuff. i think it is all for show and your comments kind of prove it. Ive never been one for the show thing. Heck they start playing games a week after they start spring training so what really happens there. Working out 2-3 hours a day doesnt make a big difference. You can either play or you can’t. People bought into the koolaid nonsense that all these players work out all year long to justify the bulk up during the roid years……contrary to what everyone thinks the body has to heal….
“It’s been great,” said Capuano, whose father flew down from Springfield, Mass., and watched the new Mets pitcher work out Monday at the team’s Florida complex. “Even since I’ve been here, just for a few days, we’ve played a little golf, gone out to dinner with a bunch of the guys. Everyone has been great and we’re all excited.”
@Paul L. –
Paul you are right I guess it’s just my impatience to see some baseball and have the team get off to a good start so the off the field bullshit is not the focus.
Im with you on that……….@kranepool -
