NY Ranger Royalty
Today for some reason is called Hockey Day in America and NBC is airing three early afternoon games and Versus gets the Heritage Classic, an outdoor games between the Montreal Canadians and the Calgary FlamesĀ in Calgary (wait, Hockey Day in AMERICA and the headline game is being played in CALGARY, ALBERTA CANADA?) so to make my contribution to the day, I’m off to MSG for what could be a old time slobberknocker between the NY Rangers and the Philadelphia Flyers. I will also stop into the Tim Horton’s in Penn Station for an apple fritter and coffee eh?

Comcast/NBC are trying, might work out better for them if they had any of the six teams in the early games be from west of the Mississippi, but I am probably just nitpicking…
THe NHl is run by a man who makes Bud Selig look like Branch Rickey. bettemen is a david stern clone, without a gigantic shoe company stuck up his ass telling him what to do.Hockey needs to be tweaked slightly[remove, for example the cities where no one goes or gives a shit, The Islanders,Thrashers,Coyotes, the panthers, predators maybe even the devils, have the original 6 teams play each other 6 times a year, for starters. The redwings and Rangers play once a year?the Rw and Bruins play once a year?asinine …Betteman is the real deal, a full blown asshole, the assholes asshole as it were
Crowd sounded very subdued. Reminds me of the Knick game I was at in early Jan. Half the crowd were visitors from out of town who (I’m guessing) bought their tix as I did – online from season tix holders. These out of town fans at the Knicks were watching it as if they were at a broadway show: cheering only that which entertained. Who won or lost hardly mattered.
