Ollie Perez has signed a MINOR yes MINOR league deal with the Washington Nationals. So when the Mets asked OP to go to the bushes he and Scott Boras said “nada” but when the best deal you can find is a bush league contract with a bottom feeder team it’s a deal.

The Nats better hope Ollie-ittes isn’t contagious or they will have more to worry about than Stephen Strasburg’s Tommy John-ed elbow .

Enjoy the bus rides, Ollie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Nats sent Lasting Milledge to Syracuse today to unclog a logjam in the outfield and to discipline Milledge who is now in the middle of a battle between Manny Acta and GM Mike Rizzo.

Seems that the immature Milledge failed to show up for  a team meeting and new GM Rizzo wanted to optioned him on the spot to the bush league but Acta took Millz back and fought for a fine instead.  But Milledge has not responded at bat and has looked foolish in the outfield so Rizzo pulled rank on Acta and sent Milledge packing.

The question is , is this a disipline puishment for a couple of weeks or was it a just fed up with all the bullshit this talented but babyish behavior that  Milledge is known for and he spends the rest of the season Upstate NY?

Back in the mid 1970’s the NYC Board of Education said that I had to take algebra in High School but really who gives a shit how much a + b equals and (ab) x( cd)? After a couple of weeks of this nonsense I decided my time would be better spent at the OTB on 18 Ave and in a back booth at the J & V Pizzeria. It looks like the management at 105.7 THE FAN in Baltimore feels the same way about exhibition baseball like I did about algebra.

The Mets and Orioles game yesterday was delayed by rain (to the point that Big Pelf tossed but a mere 13 pitches as the rain came and cut his afternoon short) and O’s radio yackers Joe Angel and Fred Manfra did their best to fill about 40 minutes of improvisation when they were told by the head muck Dee-muck at the station to shut it down and go grab and Early Bird dinner. Just as Angel and Manfra were sipping their soup the game resumed without any radio transmission back to Bawlermore.

It was an exhibition game at the end of endless spring training so no one really cares that the game wasn’t broadcast right? Right?

I just called 105.7 and asked why they are not broadcasting the game as scheduled. I was told by the producer that they have not resumed the broadcast after the rain delay because Fred Manfra and Joe Angle left and there is no one there to broadcast the game.

I think this stinks. Now I know it’s a “spring training” game and all that but come on. How bush league can you get? Your broadcasters walk off the set during a rain delay and decide to go home? What do you think?

What do I think? Are you fucking serious? Go take a walk around the Inner Harbor, or Babe’s Museum or score an 8-Ball, you’re in Bawlermore damn it!

Angel was so distraught over missing the remaining innings he posted this on a Baltimore Sun blog:

The decision to end the broadcast was made by the decision making level

at our flagship station. It didn’t come from us…..and certainly not from

the Orioles. Thanks for listening……..There’s a lot to look forward to

with Orioles baseball. Fred and I are grateful and privileged to be your

Orioles baseball companions. See you on the radio!

In other words the boss said pull the plug and they did but Angel wants it to be crystal clear that he and Manfra didn’t walk off the job. Watch out for that bus fellas!

 oh yeah, enjoy this clip

John Maine just walked again

This could be a classic Mex game as Gary Cohen has hinted that they may take phone calls. Mex is now reminiscing about his days on Cardinal teams that were out of the race early like these Nats and how you become a selfish player at that point just looking to pad your numbers

Maine threw a pitch right at LMillz it should be something to watch as maybe there will be some payback against the Nats for their bush league behavior from the last time the teams met. Remember, Elijah Dukes and L Millz doing the Little League chanting in the dugout? Last year as well the Nats felt like they helped drive the Mets in their downward slide last September so look out.

Question? If Derek Jeter is supposed to be this great team leader and CAPTAIN of all CAPTAINS then when will he put his foot in Robinson Cano’s ass? Jose Reyes was carved up in this town for shit that wasn’t even close to what this lazy bastard Cano has done the last week or so and even Joey G, who’s slip as a manager is really showing this year, hasn’t punished him either and Pack A Day Hank has thrown in the towel. This is high comedy kids. I mean the least Jeter should do is make Cano wax his Ford Escape. An another thing while I’m on a Bronx Bastards rant, all the so called experts wrote and spoke about how the Highlanders had this abundance of youg players ready to hit the big league scene to keep the Highlanders on top for years to come. What a bunch of bullshit. First off they have no clue on how to cultivate pitching and second they have absolutely no depth in their organization. The Mets have dipped into the bush leagues to pull up gems like Daniel Murphy, Argenis Reyes, Robinson Cancel and the revived Fernando Tatits. When a starting pitcher was needed they called up Brandon Knight and Brian Stokes not world class arms but two guys who would be a big part of the Highlander staff if they played in the Bronx. All we can hope is we have a repeat of the mid 60’s to the mid 70’s when the Highlanders sucked and sucked hard.

Oh Danny Boy you are magnificent.

I love how Mex thinks this one is in the bag what a kiss of death he is
