Merry Christmas to one and all and let’s hope that our Christmas wish comes true that our beloved baseball team gets a new owner soon and that we can have the summer and autumn of baseball that we Mets fans deserve.

Happy Christmas Eve y’all I got so much shit to do but I hate doing it so while everyone thinks I’m busy doing stuff to get ready for tonight and tomorrow I’m sitting here typing out this post, and why not no one gets yelled at on Christmas right?

Rob Castelano of Amazin’ Avenue was on a conference call with the new and improved Mets coaching staff and posted the entire transcript of the call. Looks like TC and Co. will hit the ground running at St Lonesome in Feburay. I’d advise the Mets players to leave the golf clubs at home.

I cannot believe that  Charles Wang has not reached out to Mikhail Prokhorov about adding the Islanders as  a tenant to the Barclay Center in Brooklyn. Forget about building an arena in Queens, Brooklyn is the place for the Isles.

As with Thanksgiving, it’s not the official holiday with hearing Alice’s Restaurant on Christmas no gifts can be open until I play the only Christmas song I like.

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
Couldn’t miss this one this year!

Not much Mets news to report to day and besides the NY Football Giants are getting on my last nerve today, that and a request has been made for me to pull out the Christmas tree and decorations since we are “sitting around doing nothing today”  Like it’s a crime to do nothing for a day?

Ahhhhhhh more tomorrow

I got an iTouch for Christmas and I’ve spending a lot of time adding songs from my iTunes on to it, which is a great thing to do as we wait for the Mets to sign yet another reliever to go with all the third string catchers they horded away earlier this off season. But nothing sums up the state of the Mets this off season and as what the organization looks like to the outside baseball world than this quote from the Great Gammo via MLBTradeRumors on Jason Bay signing with the Mets:

Gammons quips that Bay would “rather play in Beirut than Queens” and adds that he should have taken Boston’s offer of $60MM over four years back in July.

I think I might use that line on the Mets ticket rep when they come a-callin’ for me to buy a season ticket.

Gotta go I have some Dictators, Chesterfield Kings and Mission of Burma tracks to download!

I’m running out the door to spread some Christmas cheer but before I do, a moment please:

What does your Dickey do? Mine throws a knuckleball

Hello? Where have you been hearing that the Mets should get David DeJesus and Gil Meche? Hello? Is this thing on?

Fork please! Carlos Delgado is as done as a Christmas goose.

When it comes to Assclowns nobody beats Highlander fans. Some of these geniuses have been calling WFAN or Twittering that they hate the deal that brought Javier Vasquez to the Highlanders for Melkey Cabrea and a couple of bush leaguers. Sometimes Highlander fans your stupidity is breath taking.

Thank you Mike Vaccaro, thank you for a wonderful column this morning.

Why do I get the sad feeling that we will see more Red Sox stories in the fish wraps this summer than Mets news?

Happy Easter to all even though the weather in NYC feels more like Christmas. Tomorrow morning should be the last of the 30 degree temps in the morning so says Megan Glaros the weather honey on Ch 2. I think she said that but I’m not quite sure because every time I watch her give the weather reports I fall into a daze and just picture her telling me the forecast naked. Is Glaros hot? Muy caliente muchachos, muy caliente

Livan Hernandez may be just and innings eating back of the rotation pitcher but last night he was an artist. Hernandez proved everything that is the art of pitching. It doesn’t matter how hard you throw, if you have command of your pitches that you can hit whatever spot you want, then you’re a Master.

Jerry Manuel, Ryan Church has accepted your challenge

Two things went against Marlon Anderson, he hit left-handed and he wasn’t a pitcher so the Mets had to let him go. He shouldn’t have been with the team anyway as signing him to a two year deal was another Omar folly but Anderson did leave an impression on D-Wright and it seems he was more valuable to the team than most fans (me) felt:

“He was probably one of the most unselfish players that I’ve ever played with, ”

said. “He was always looking out for what he thought was the best thing for the team.”

That’s it for today. It’s Easter and I’m dining at my in laws today and want to get a good seat at the table so I can scarf down some lasagna (you can keep the lamb and the ham) and bogart the TV to watch the Mets . Later

10:30 on a Saturday morning and I’m still sitting in my living room. No basketball games to run to. No ice skating lesson to go freeze my ass off at AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I could get used to this but I know it won’t last too much longer.

Not much Mets news either as but you should check out this post from Mike Silva on his NY Baseball Digest site on the Christmas Day article in the Daily News on Ryan Church. Silva had told me when Mike Francesa went on his Church hates NY rant that it was bullshit and now Church in this article backs that up. Also Silva is adding the lovely and talented Frank Maniscalco (A/K/A Frankie The Sports Guy) as his go to guy on Fantasy Baseball.

Jame Preller is a big time Mets fan and and an author  of children’s books.  His latest book is Six Innings which intertwines a Little League championship game with Game 6 of the 1986 NLCS. If you’re a parent, grandparent or aunt or uncle or if you are looking for a gift for a child this Christmas put down the video game and  buy them a book. They will be pissed off at first but later on they’ll thank you down the line  as there is no more important skill in life than reading and it is a shame that there are kids in this country that have reading problems or are apathetic to reading that it is a damn shame.  One book that would make a terrific gift this season would be Six Innings.
