Oh well here we go again, What first looked like a harmless day to day injury to Ike Davis has turned into a season ending, maybe micro surgery type of injury. I know most of Metfandom is ready to call out the Mets sawbones for another mis-diagnosis but it’s hard to say if this was a misdiagnosis or Ike just isn’t a fast healer.
So now the doctors have said they will remove the protective boot from Ike’s ankle to let more blood flow and hopefully allow for enough to rejuvenate the cartilage in the ankle. If that doesn’t work, then Ike will need microfracture surgery to get the blood flowing to the area.
Knowing the luck of this organization, figure you’ll see Ike again around late February 2012 . Let’s just hope the docs operate on the injured left ankle and not the healthy right one
