Let’s Go Rangers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know we are a day away from opening day, and believe me if it were up to me I’d camp out in the Citi Field parking lot tonight, but others in my family don’t share my overzealous Mets fandom, but I must digress from the Mets for a moment to revel in the NY Rangers clinching the #1 seed in the NHL Eastern Conference (some fans are a bit confused, the Rangers are not the Eastern Division Champs, at least not yet) with a rockem’-sockem’ win over the Filthadelphia Flyers last night.

It’s been awhile since I enjoyed a Rangers season as much as this one and I can not wait for the Stanley Cup tournament begins . The Rangers have a great shot at wining the Stanley Cup and yet it won’t be easy but no matter what all Rangers fans know one thing, this team will not be out work or out prepared.

I AM A RANGER

<>

I know we are supposed to be all hopped up for baseball, with opening day just days away (I am very anxious to get to Citi Field early on Thursday) but I have to take time out to salute my NY Rangers on win #50 last night.

This has been the best Rangers season in years. This may not be the most talented Rangers team ever but it may be the best loved by the fans, with the exception of the 1994 Cup Champs. Even the most jaded of Rangers fan has a tough time criticizing anyone on this team, oh they try by getting on Dubi or Boyle or Richards but they look foolish doing it.

I have no idea what will happen in the Stanley Cup playoffs, I will be rooting my ass off for a Cup and a parade but right but I don’t want to get ahead of myself.

But before the playoffs start I want to thank the Rangers players, Coach Torterella and a guy I have been nasty to for years Glen Sather for giving Rangers fans a great season and for bringing us a team we are so proud of.

The video I posted gives me goosebumps every time I see it when I’m at MSG. I had NY Rangers season tickets from the mid-70’s to about 1990 when kids and a mortgage made me shift my time and money obligations but I still make sure I watch every game on TV and try to get to at least 10 games a year.

Like the message in the video says “I AM A RANGER”

FROM THE KRANEPOOL SOCIETY COLECTION

Remember when I had to clean out a closet for my daughter, so I had to relocate my baseball cards and memorabilia? Well I took pictures of some of the items:

The NY Daily News were selling these pins for a buck back in 1969. My father went over to the News Building to get me a couple of these pins. My dad worked downtown so he had to head to midtown on his lunch hour to get these for me. I miss that man everyday.

Check it out Jets fans, 2 tickets from the 1968 AFL Championship Game played at Shea Stadium Jets 27 Oakland Raiders 23
