Nothing has worked for Terry Collins to get his team off the second half schnide, somatbe he should do a little song and dance
Lucas Duda is back with the big club and JV1 goes back the Wallyworld. I’m sure Valdespin will be back in September but there are many in the Mets clubhouse who I’m sure wished Valdy a nice trip to Buffalo and don’t let the clubhouse door hit you on the ass on the way out.
Scott Hairston and Anders Torres have been placed on waivers. I’m sure Hairston will be claimed and hopefully the Mets can deal Hairston for a prospect or two but I doubt anyone is going to claim Torres, you never know but I really doubt it. If Torres is not claimed I’d rather see the Mets release him and let Matt Den Deker play CF in September.
Seems Ruben Tejada took a shot to the nuts (he wasn’t wearing a cup, I guess he has no thoughts of being a daddy) and that was the excuse explanation for not running out a ground ball yesterday. If he was hurting so much form the shot to the McNuggets than he should have been removed from the game, if you’re in the game you got play hard even if you have swollen scrotum.

This match was held on August 30 1980 the ring looks very small for the angle it was shot. I never saw wrestling at Shea but I went there to see Roberto Duran fight Sugar Ray Leonard on close circuit TV from Montreal. They set up two big screens in front of the pitchers mound and shut off every light in the stadium so we could see the screen better. All seats were general admission sit where you want and back then there was not checking bags or much security, so the booze, weed and weapons were in ample supply that night.

WOW, Springsteen just gets better and how about Tom Morello joining him? SO you have the E Street Band, Rage Against The Machine and The Roots all under one roof, take a bow Jimmy Fallon
Yes by the way this video is taking my mind off the news that Scott Hairston re-injured his oblique (ob-la-da) muscle and David Wright felt a “twinge” in his back today so he didn’t play in today’s inter-squad game , Of course the Mets tells us to move on nothing to see here, when it fact we’ve seen it all before

Whenever I hear this song, I think about the nights I spent at The Ritz, which is now called Webster Hall. We would all go there on Monday nights for Rock N Roll Against Recession. Admission was free, there were live bands and St.Paulie Girls were 2 bucks and the joint was packed
Circumstance has forced my hand
To be a cut price person in a low budget land
Times are hard but we’ll all survive
I just got to learn to economize

I don’t have many if any regrets in life but one I do have is that I never got to see a game at the Polo Grounds.

Well scratch Joe Nathan off my wish list for Mets closer. Nathan has signed a two year $14.5 mil deal with the Texas Rangers who will now move Netfli Perez back to the starting rotation. I would have loved to have Nathan coming out to save games for the Mets, I really wanted Sandy Alderson to get both Nathan and Jonathan Broxton for the back end of the pen but that won’t happen.
I can’t blame Nathan for jumping on the Rangers offer as they are coming off two straight World Series appearances. I doubt the Mets would have made an offer so much better that Nathan would come to the Mets.
On the other hand, it seems the Mets are looking to sign Jack Wilson. Yes Jack Wilson <eyeroll>
Nice bounce bacDDk by the Mets with Fernando Nieve throwing another gem. I would have liked to see him come out for the 7th inning last night but apparently he was suffering form a stomach aliment that had him tossing his cookie or soup in this instance.
If I’m Ed Wade I’d make my self scares over at Minute Maid Park. How could let this guy Nieve get away for nothing?Â
I think Bobby Parnell could use a day or two off. Maybe join A-Rod in South Beach for some R & R
Brian Schneider had a big 3 run HR last night good for him but he stinks behind the plate More Santos please!!!
Keith Hernandez was talking about Daniel Murphy’s foot work at 1st base as he looked a little awkward on a 4-3 ground ball. Has anyone in the Mets front office asked Mex to work with Danny Boy before a game? I’m sure Keith could take time out from trimming his ‘stache to help the kid out?
We have a 12PM game and it is getting darker and darker my the minute and if we don’t get this one in today that will make 6 rain outs and looking at radar it doesn’ t look good. <sigh!>

Matt Wise Tim Redding will start the season cashing paychecks at the 24 check cashing at Pt. St Lonesome as he is experiencing “shoulder discomfort”,<wink, wink, nod, nod> so he will stay behind in extended spring training to work out his “shoulder discomfort <wink, wink, nod, nod> Whatever is wrong with his shoulder doesn’t seem to efect him picking up a knife and fork as to my eyes Redding is closing in on fat bastard status not far far from the unflatering fat fuck lable.
Who gains from this? Well, Bobby Parnell, Darren O’Day, and  Brian Stokes who look like they will make up the front of the bullpen
