IN THE END, AMERCIA WINS, WE ALWAYS WIN!

What a day eh? I guess we will add to our “where were you” list our whereabouts when you heard that Osama Bin Laden was killed by U.S. Special Ops. I found out while checking out Twitter while watching Mets-Phillies and fighting off sleep.

The news of that filthy fucking savage Bin Laden was dead  was a like a jolt of adrenalin.  As much as I was enjoying the superb  pitching of Chris Young,  the three man ESPN booth was killing me, plus after a weekend of putting furniture together, managing a baseball game (a 13-3 opening day win for my Babe Ruth team) and a 5AM wakeup call looming, I was ready to hit the sack. My wife and kids had already went to bed early as my daughter and wife volunteered  to work the Staten Island end of the 5 Boro Bike Tour with her Girl Scout troop and my son competed in a rifle sharp shooting contest upstate and left camp at 6:30 AM with my nephew in order to make out baseball game at 10:30AM, poor kid felt asleep on the couch and he’s to damn big now for me to carry him upstairs so I had to wake him up to go to bed. That sucks.

So with everyone but me and the cats off to sleep, I settle in to watch the rest of Mets-Phillies along with checking out Twitter. As I reading my timeline I keep seeing that President Obama will address the nation at 10:30 PM. WOW! This cannot be good, everything about it a Sunday, late at night, asking for clearance from the networks? First thing I thought was word of an impending attack on the U.S. and we need to get prepared. Then I thought that Gaddafi was dead. Good for the miserable scum bag. As my timeline was updating by the second, I realized this is much, much bigger. I switched on CNN and Wolff Blitzer knew what was going on but couldn’t say. Well, fuck you Wolff. I switch to MSNBC and some D-list anchor is on there and he is ready to report this unbelievable piece of news, when a director tells him in his ear piece not to. Mother fuckers! As I’m cursing out the news media I’m checking Twitter and the word on the social media street is OSAMA BIN LADEN was killed by American Special Ops. HOLLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!! I switch down the dial to all places FOX News and lo and behold Geraldo Rivera is jumping out of his seat relaying the news that Bin Laden is dead, he then high fives a retired General who is in studio with him. At this point I run upstairs to wake up my wife to give her the news, she gets out of bed to join me in watching the President tell the world the American finally got its man.

I am so happy and proud the American Special Ops did this prick in and from reading how they did it solidifies the fact to the whole world that there is no dedicated and braver solider like the men and women of the American Military. That’s why this country with all the faults and bullshit we endure everyday can sleep at night knowing that the U.S. Armed Services is protecting us.  There are still a bunch of scumbag wanna-be tough guys in the Middle East that think they can take down America and win those 72 virgins they’ve been brain washed into believing are waiting for them, the only thing waiting for those mindless douchebags is a bullet to the head with USA engraved on it.

Meanwhile the Mets beat the Phuck Phaces in 14 innings as Chris Young outpitched Cliff Lee and Frankie Rodriguez, Pedro Beato, and Taylor Bucholz pitched 6.1 shutout innings and Ronnie Paulino, RONNIE PAULINO!!!! Went 5 for 7 in his Mets debut as the Mets salvage a win in Philly.

I’m happy the Mets won , but there are not the news of the day and I don’t think they mind it at all.

Carlos Canal owns a towing business at Willets Point but he was more than happy to sell his parcel of land to the City of New York to move to a better facility for his business and for the redevelopment of this eye sore property and Mr. Canal feels his fellow Willets Pointers should do the same as the area is literally a dump and a health hazard:

{You get tired of this place. It’s a disgrace. It’s too dirty. It’s filled with garbage and dust, and there are potholes everywhere. You can’t keep anything in our shop clean. The area is filled with rats. If you put a piece of bread in the middle of Willets Point, a thousand rats would run out and attack it. The city has to do something with this property. It’s disgusting, and you can’t work here because it makes you sick.}

Even without the new ball park this area has needed an overhaul for years and now with the promise of affordable housing and jobs for area residents this proposal needs to pass the Den of Thieves (NYC City Council) if not maybe President Obama could assign a Special Prosecutor to investigate the area political hacks who oppose this deal to find out why?

ELECTION NIGHT RECAP-SORRY NO METS NEWS HERE

Besides having to run some early morning errands, the events of last night’s election still has me in it’s grip as I read the stories and watch the pundits talk about the historic night. I know I get myself  in some hot water when I go on a political rant here but I’ll just say this. Yes I am very happy with the Obama win and I am extremely proud of my fellow citizens for coming out in record numbers to vote. I am also touched by the very eloquent speech that John McCain made during his concession. This was not an election where you could say you despise the other candidate as I have the utmost respect for Senator McCain for his duty and sacrifice he has given to the country. I will say that he does stand out as a true patriot in a party full of phonies and it was the two-bit chicken hawks in the Republican and Conservative Parties that did him in in his run for the Presidency. McCain is a much better man and American than the Cheney’s Rowe’s and the repulsive duo of Sean Hanattiy and Rush Limbaugh of the Right Wing World.

When the Iraqi War was first waged and we found out that the government lied to us and the Congress I wanted to know where were the young people of the nation and why weren’t they venting their outrage to this war. Well, I guess they waited for the next election as the 18-25 year olds came out like never before and that to me was the greatest legacy of the election that young people of this country ,the folks who will be making policy in the future, embraced the Obama candidacy and worked hard to get him elected. Bravo to you.

Again we showed the world why we are the Super Power of the Earth. Not just because we have the best weapons and the bravest soldiers but because we have the most intelligence, heart and compassion than any other country in the world. For some strange reason while watching the 270 electoral votes go up on the screen and seeing people in Times Square and Grant Park hugging and crying and celebrating I thought about September 11 2001. Sometimes I feel I think about that day too much but it’s a day I’ll never forget and  Ground Zero is so close to my office so I’m reminded every day but I just thought how on that day we Americans were stunned, shocked and devastated by what happened and then last  night watching President-Elect Obama make his acceptance speech and telling us that he will do what he can but he needs the American people to help him it looks as if the country is back on track and headed in the right direction.

I know a lot of you were not Obama supporters but please take the words of John McCain to heart when he said no matter who you backed in this election we are all Americans and we have to do what’s right for America. The rest of the world is celebrating as well, America is Back, Better Than Ever!
