Forget about the Mets for a moment and their 5th loss in a row the real loss today was the death of one the greatest voices in Heavy Metal, Ronnie James Dio passed away this morning after fighting stomach cancer at the age of 67.
One of the biggest debates amongst Headbangers was when Dio replaced Ozzy Osbourne as front man for Black Sabbath. I was and still am a huge Ozzy fan and I’ve always felt that Dio replacing Ozzy was the Rock equivalent of Tom Galavine joining the Mets, it just felt uncomfortable.
But Dio and Richie Blackmore joining forces as Rainbow was some of the best metal music ever
Rest in Peace to the Man on the Silver Mountain and the man who gave us one of the great vocals ever in Heaven and Hell
