GOT TIME FOR A QUICKIE ?

Lots of work to do today, which sucks for me, the King of All Procrastinators, so let me hit ya’ up quick here this morning:

Sandy Alderson as the whole free world knows by now is on Twitter (MetsGM) which shows how progressive things are getting with the front office. I’ve tried to let Alderson know that mongos likehttps://twitter.com/#!/gregpomesand @BayonneMetsFan are to be blocked although he may get a good laugh at their stupidity.

Howard Megdal has a piece on Capital New York site about a woman named Noreen Harrington, who to warned the Skill Sets that something was rotten on the Gold Coast of Long Island with Bernie Madoff but was scolded by Uncle Saul to zip it, of course Uncle Saul has no recollection of meeting with Ms. Harington about this. As Howard points out too many “I don’t recall” from the defense in the Trustee case could sway the jury to Irv Piccard’s side. As someone who has served on two juries in my life, Howard is 100 % on the money (no pun intended) juries want facts and any hesitation in testimony or poor preparation by a witness could sink a case fast. Uncle Saul better bring his “A” game to this trail.

Looks like Mets minor leaguers Dock Doyle and Scott Moviel went one toke over the line and it’ll cost them 50 games suspension.

That’s it for now, I want to get this work done before 2PM whenhttps://twitter.com/#!/JedSmedpresents #MetsHashTags on Twitter, fun for the whole family.

“PLACE YA BETS, NO MORE BETS”

The Mets front office is trying to put a happy face on this team of theirs but deep down I’m sure they’re doing shots of Maalox over the pitching staff.

Big Pelf’ Long Balls on Parade has to be alarming to Mets decision makers so much so that the name Bronson Arroyo has come up again as a Mets trade target. A deal for Arroyo or any real life honest to goodness starting pitcher should have been done this off season but either money issued or stupidity prevented any such deal from happening.

The old saw is “don’t put too much stock in spring training” and that’s fine when your names is Santana, or Lincicum or Seaver. But when you are a struggling starter like Big Pelf, OP and Maine Man, you need to show me why I should have confidence in you on the mound and so far as we get to a week before opening day my confidence in this pitching staff on a scale of 1-10 is about a 3.

Am I being overly pessimistic? You tell me. Let’s play the Mike Francesa Approved “Unnda/Ovah Game with the pitching staff. Please go to the comments and leave your picks.

Number of games Johan Santana will win in 2010? Unnda/Ovah 14

Number of wins combined for Big Pelf/OP/Maine Man? Unnda/Ovah 27

Number of innings combined for Big Pelf/OP/Maine Man? Unnda/Ovah 450

Number of different starting pitchers the Mets will use in 2010? Unnda/Ovah 8

Number of appearances by Vitamin Pedro in 2010? Unnda?Ovah 75

Number of saves for Frankie Rodz in 2010? Unnda/Ovah 33

Number of pitchers total used by the Mets in 2010? Unnda/Ovah 21

GOOD TIDINGS TO YOU NO, NOT YOU JEFF

I’m running out the door to spread some Christmas cheer but before I do, a moment please:

What does your Dickey do? Mine throws a knuckleball

Hello? Where have you been hearing that the Mets should get David DeJesus and Gil Meche? Hello? Is this thing on?

Fork please! Carlos Delgado is as done as a Christmas goose.

When it comes to Assclowns nobody beats Highlander fans. Some of these geniuses have been calling WFAN or Twittering that they hate the deal that brought Javier Vasquez to the Highlanders for Melkey Cabrea and a couple of bush leaguers. Sometimes Highlander fans your stupidity is breath taking.

Thank you Mike Vaccaro, thank you for a wonderful column this morning.

Why do I get the sad feeling that we will see more Red Sox stories in the fish wraps this summer than Mets news?

WE’RE #1 FOR NOW!!!!

First and foremost HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Look who is in first place in the NL East.

Welcome back Brian Stokes

My team lost a game yesterday where my two hardest throwing pitchers walked 15 (yes fifteen) batters. So back to pitching school we go. I’v tried doing wide stance drills, sifting their weight from back to front, keeping the front leg up (standing tall) for a three count then releasing the ball, and I’ve pleaded for them to keep their head up and focus on the target (set up by catcher) if anyone has any other drills or ideas I am open to any and all sugestions (tell me in the comments or by e mail at SINYMETS@aol.com  because if I go through another game of 15 walks by my pitchers they will take me out of the dugout in a straight jacket.

My blood test is back from the day I posted about dealing the two Carlos’ and it came back possitive for stupidity.

SUNDAY ODDS & ENDS

Looks like the Ollie P negotiations will go on for a while but I have a feeling he will sign back with the Mets sometime this week.

I love how people are telling Mets fans to pipe down on the Manny to the Mets talk, it either comes from media types who have no allegiance to the Mets expect that they cover them for a paycheck (that’s you Ed Coleman ) or some “anonymous” GM that most time is a figment of a writers imagination. The bottom line is the Manny makes the Mets a World Series contender and I will write about Manny every god damn day if I have to to get the Mets to sign him and plant in LF.

Joe McDonald has a slide show of pics showing the final days of Shea. It’s just a matter of weeks until Shea becomes a $tit Field parking lot.

Well what do you know, all was not well in Highlander universe during the rein of St Joseph of Torre. Can’t wait to read this book.

Never underestimate the stupidity of people
