DOES JERRY MANUEL MAKE IT BACK TO FLUSHING ?

Yesterday’s Mets-Dodgers game was so bad in so many ways. Besides the fact that David Wright is standing so far off the plate that he needs a canoe paddle to hit the ball and that he desperately needs a day off, and that Jerry Manuel has some form of Antention Decifict Disorder when it comes to writing a lineup (Luis Castillo MUST BAT 8TH GOD DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) plus watching Manuel and St. Joseph of Torre match wits with the bullpen is like watching a four hour promo of the movie Schmucks For Dinner. Then to top off the whole afternoon of suck, the game was televised on FOX. Kenny Albert is not built for baseball. He kind of drifts off like he’s so fucking bored wishing it was winter so he can call football and hockey games. When Albert works both of those sports he’s solid but  on baseball he’s god awful. Eric Karros is a moron. Plain and simple, a moron. He makes no sense at all with any of his analysis especially when he thought pitching to Andre Either with first base open and one out with the winning run on thrird was a good move. Then there is Ken Rosenthal who I ask very nicely on Twitter, to shut the fuck up. For an “information guy” he brings you nothing except for some good old fashion Mets bashing. Yes we’re spoiled as we have the finest TV crew in baseball to enjoy almost every night, but at least if I’m going to sit through Jerry Manuel botching games and some pretty bas baseball this last month, I want to be entertained somewhat and only Gary, Keith and Ron can do that for Mets fans.

I’ll be shocked, SHOCKED if Jerry Manuel is the manager of the Mets come Tuesday night. If he is still the manager, then you know for sure the Skill Sets don’t care anymore. 71/2 back will soon be 10 games back and all out attention will be on Jets and Giants camp.

It’s so easy to kill Toxic Ollie for yesterday but Ollie is what he is. The only thing I can take out Manuel bringing in Perez was this was Manuel being insubordinate. It makes me think that Manuel told management he wanted no part of Ollie on this team and management told him to shut up and sit down as we are paying this balooka a ton of dough and Manuel said well then no problem I’ll make sure he comes into a tight situation and fucks it up. Manuel has managed this road trip like a guy is tired of his job and needs a change so the Skill Sets should do the right thing for him and the team and relive him of his duty.

The kicker today will be if the Mets are up or down by a lot today and Frankie Rodriguez pitches and after the game Manuel says “Frankie hasn’t pitched in awhile so he needed the work”

Jerry Manuel didn’t get on John Maine because he was John Maine. No Jerry Manuel got on John Maine because John Maine was pitching as John Maine right shoulder needed to be surgically repaired. Jerry Manuel liked John Maine but was mad because John Maine wouldn’t tell Jerry Manuel that John Maine was hurt. John Maine wanted the ball and tried to fight off John Maine’s sore shoulder. It didn’t work out for John Maine here as John Maine’ season ending surgery is likely to be the end of John Maine’ Mets career. So now Jerry Manuel has to find another John Maine to treat like shit like he did to John Maine.

ALL BASEBALL ALL THE TIME

No blogging yesterday as it was a full day of practice for my Babe Ruth league team. The league had told me during the winter that our season would not start until mid-May, as many of the kids play High School baseball but last week they switched it up and said we are starting right away. Our first game is Monday so it’s been a scramble of sorts to get my pitching in order and all the administrative stuff like uniforms and contacting parents with schedules and location sot pick up uniforms.

Then with that I have two podcasts to do this week. The first will be on Tuesday night at 11PM ET as me and Adam Bernacchio of The Ghost of Moonlight Graham will host the Baseball Bloggers Alliance show BBA Baseball Talk.

Then on Wednesday night at 10PM ET I will be hosting my THIS CALL TO THE BULLPEN show on Blogtalk Radio and one of my guest will be the founder of the Baseball Bloggers Alliance and Cardinal blogger at C70 At The Bat, Daniel Shoptaw, we will discuss the weekend series between the Mets and Cardinals in St. Louis.

Now today as much as I would love to write some Mets stuff, I’m heading to a birthday party for my 1year old Great niece in 10 minutes, if I’m not totally exhausted by this evening I mat have a Mets write up tonight, if not tomorrow for sure.

TAKE HEART METS FANS YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Are you a Mets fan that feels down and out with this awful season? Well, you’re not alone my friend as there are plenty of other Disciples of the Blue and Orange that feel the same way. At a time like this you should not be alone with your depressing thoughts and that is why Greg Prince of Faith and Fear in Flushing and Jon Springer of Mets By The Numbers are the Mets fans Samaritans and have put together AMAZIN’ TUESDAYS at TWO BOOTS RESTAURANT (384 Grand St Manhattan) to soothe our souls and fill our bellies with beer and pizza and talk about our favorite baseball team and maybe plan a coup of $iti Field (well maybe not a coup but after a few cold Rheingold’s who knows what could happen)

So come out this Tuesday Night July 21st  at 7PM for the first installment of AMAZIN’ TUESDAY believe you need to get out and you’ll feel better for it.

TUESDAY NIGHT? WHAT HAPPENED TUESDAY NIGHT?

Just a quick hit here as I had to participate in an emergency evacuation drill in out building this morning and I have to leave early as my wife has some business to take of and my kids have turned our home into a social club so someone has to be home to scream and yell at a bunch of kids so it’s my turn but a few things from last night:

I give up. I’ve got a headache from trying  to analyze this Mets team and trying to figure out how this season is going to end. Tuesday night I went to bed furious with the failure to hold a 7 run lead and last night I went to sleep dreaming of ticker tape falling from the skies of Lower Manhattan and Carlos Del GOD o holding the World Series MVP trophy. Talk about she loves me, she loves me not.

What bullpen problems? Brain Stokes to Feliciano Smith to Luis Ayala what’s wrong with that trio? I can’t believe you people were worried about the bullpen, PLEASE!

Mush Schoeneweis got his balls in an uproar after Tuesday night and was called into Warlord Jerry’s office before last night’s game. Supposedly both Mush and J-Man left the office smiling. J-Man for getting his point across to Mush to keep is unproductive pie hole shut and Mush for being able to walk out of the office on his own power. Seems Mush was pissed that he got up to throw a few times Tuesday and was a bit burned out when he had to come in. Mush forgets he is a decoy that gives the opposition hope that they can see him on the mound and light his ass up. J-Man was just letting him know that he was sorry for getting up so much as he had to use him as a last resort as the last thing J-Man wants to do is use Mush in a big spot.

J-Man’s albino brother Charlie got some explaining to do to the Philly fans for not brining Brad Lidge into the game in the 8th   Don’t get the guy up if your not going got use him C-Man.  Also for not giving that little prick Victorino the bunt sign in the 6th with runners on 1st and 2nd no out. You’re no Gangsta’ C-Man.

So we are right where we were when the Mets team bus pulled up to the Vault on Tuesday a half game in front. The Cheesesteakers now go to Wrigley to face the Cubs (root-root, root for the CCCCCUUUUUBBBIIIIIESSSS, if they don’t win it’s a shame) so lets have an Old Style and hope the North Siders help us out. The Mets go down to South Beach and will see old pal Paul LoDuca (another excellent move by Omar that has gone unnoticed not bringing back the washed up teen idol) at Shea Stadium South. The only thing I’ll miss about this series is listening to the Fish broadcasters bitch and moan about the pro-Mets crowd at the House that Dan Marino Built.
